    Life’s a Fight

Life’s a Fight is a metaphor for life. It’s a mindset and philosophy that shapes how you approach the challenges in front of you.

This is a low-key, down-to-earth podcast about the ups and downs of life. We’re talking everyday challenges and the big ones, too.

Using my life and experiences as the backbone—Spanish teacher turned UFC fighter, now a professional speaker with a wife and kids—you’ll hear stories, lessons and strategies to help you keep going when you don’t think you can.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and could use some help fighting your fight, this is for you.

Hosted by former UFC fighter and teacher Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman.

*There are more than 2300 episodes of this podcast. Some of the older ones look different and have a different format.

Talks 349 - Dan Doty, Wilderness Guide, Men's Coach, Meditation Teacher Jul 22, 2021
    Show notes

Dan Doty really liked Spanny's question early in this talk, which boiled down to, "How can I relate you to other outdoorsmen that I know?" Because it's hard for Spanny to connect those others to Dan's interest in natural medicines, shamanism, emotional health and spirituality. Dan calls this his Uncle Test, because he has family members who don't see the world the way he does. But everyone has emotions, he notes—even men!—and he knows how to guide people toward the healing, sustaining gifts of nature. Sometimes through some wild (literally) means. Enjoy this talk with a huge-hearted, wide-open-minded guy who also latched onto Spanny's analogy of "that max hot wing that I can really eat and like." (Listen for it!)

This is another good read from the Ruiz family. I first "The Four Agreements" years ago and covered "Mastery of Self"(Books 1236-1240) not too long ago. These kinds of books remind me to focus on what's important, and to get rid of the baggage I'm carrying around on the inside. Enjoy today's introduction.
