Are you happy?
Is life fun?
Do you breathe in the moments of life, or are you discontented by the present as you pursue the future?

Every January the gyms fill up, the diet programs kick in and people focus on annual plans. Goals of becoming healthier, fulfilling dreams, fixing broken relationships, and going for “the gold medal” are front and center. What if God could take us on a journey of discovery, showing us the power that is deep inside? What if we knew we were created RADIOACTIVE? What if we lived in every moment, compelled to action by an energy previously unknown?

Jesus shared an idea that often is overlooked, or even overcomplicated; he shared the power of love. He made love to be the greatest and most important of all human pursuits. He showed love as something beyond a discipline, or a behavior. He showed love as an energy, a force of God’s nature within every human heart. In RADIOACTIVE we will see the emphasis Jesus placed on this idea of love, it’s power and the profound impact it has on extensive happiness, living in every moment being fully alive.

Blaine Bartel | 2019 Part 1 Jan 06, 2019

BLAINE BARTEL THIS SUNDAY

For the past several years, Blaine Bartel, with the support of his wife Lori, has been actively coaching men who are struggling with porn and sexual brokenness. He has discovered a gift of grace to help these friends do the work of resurrection and reinvent a life previously unimagined.

You may be aware of some of Blaine’s accomplishments.

He was considered the “Youth Pastor of America.”
He hosted a national television show for more than a decade.
He became a best selling author.
He led the largest weekly student gathering in America.

This is what the public knew about Blaine.

What they didn’t know is that Blaine hated who he had become. Behind the curtains of his success was a man who was overcome by an unbreakable sexual addiction, severe clinical depression and marital brokenness. Eight years ago, he walked away from everything he had built and accomplished in an attempt to try to discover a life that was worth living.

After a desperate attempt to end his life, he was placed in an addiction recovery center in Phoenix, Arizona for 30 days. After hearing Blaine’s story, Dr. Ralph Earle, one of the nations leading sexual addiction specialists, told Blaine, “You are the poster child for sexual addiction. I honestly don’t know if you will ever get free.”

This was the beginning of a radical life transformation that would demand all Blaine had to give in order to fully encounter the resurrected life. Today, if you ask Blaine what his greatest achievement is, he will share this extraordinary seven year drama of the dusty, winding road up the mountain of recovery.

Blaine and Lori reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma, love hanging out with family and friends and have a weakness for reality shows. Along with his speaking and coaching, Blaine is a writer and has recently released a brand new book entitled, “Death by a Thousand Lies.”

A CHRISTMAS STORY

Christmas is finally here! Christ followers everywhere will gather to remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus. So what is up with the Christmas story. Everybody has seen the Nativity scene. There is a donkey, a shepherd, a few sheep, 3 kings, a treasure chest, Daddy Joseph, Mama Mary, and baby Jesus in a cradle-nest made of tree branches. Oh, and don’t forget the barn that looks like a thatch bus stop. What does it mean? Are the stories behind the story interesting? Does any of it matter?

The Biblical Christmas story is like watching a mystery theater; every scene has a twist. As this puzzling drama unfolds, the characters emerge with fascinating pasts. They are players injected into God’s plan to solve the suffering of the ages. This suspenseful piecing together of the Nativity’s characters and circumstances makes the birth of Jesus a thriller, leaving each of us a newfound purpose and power to make a difference. In A Christmas Story, we shift our eyes from surface ideas of the manger to reveal God’s ultimate masterpiece of Redemption.

LUKE 2:1-20 NKJV And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in SWADDLING cloths, and laid Him in a MANGER, because there was no room for them in the INN (guest chamber). 8 Now there were in the same country SHEPHERDS living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an ANGEL of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the SIGN TO YOU: You will find a Babe wrapped in SWADDLING CLOTHS, lying in a MANGER.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a MULTITUDE OF THE HEAVENLY HOST praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” 15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
