Show notes

In part two of this special with Scott Meenagh, there's a special comradery and solidarity shared as Scott tells Chris about working with his brother in the paratroopers, as well as what "puts the fear of God" into the Taliban.
"In order for me to do my job as effectively as possible I need to be not expecting to come home"
These are the sacrifices service men and women make every day, particularly this former paratrooper AND Paralympian, Scott Meenagh.
He and Chris Ryan share a bond over Chris's brother, who served alongside Scott in the 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment. Scott lost both his legs in 2011 after stepping on an IED, but turned his life around to become a successful Paralympian.

The Translator: 'Johnny Walker' & Jason Tuschen Part 2 Aug 22, 2021

Show notes

This two-parter is also the first episode of 'Life or Death' where Chris Ryan has two guests on, and what a pair they are!
It's legendary translator for the U.S. Navy SEALs, Iraqi-born 'Johnny Walker' and his friend, former Navy SEAL and Command Master Chief, Jason Tuschen.
With the current abandonment of translators, allies and interpeters in Afghanistan, this episode feels of real importance and prevelance as we explore the brotherhood and friendship between two men of different nationalities both seeking the same goal - peace.
