Ladies let’s be honest for a moment. Have you ever been in so much pain that you thought it would kill you, but instead, it gave you another chance in life and helped you find your purpose?
Today, I have the honour of hosting the amazing Valencia Joy. She is the author of ‘I Met A Guy’, and her purpose is to help women. Valencia is one person I know who will always serve you things as they are without sugar-coating. Expect a lot of that in this episode.
In this episode, Valencia takes us through her journey to becoming the woman she is today. She was married for 12 years and divorced for over eight years. Valencia’s husband cheated on her 1,000,001 times, and she only left 1,000,001st times. You must be wondering why did she hang in there for so long? Why didn’t she leave earlier? According to Valencia, she was obeying God.
When she left her marriage, she was hurt and broken. She had to go through a journey of trying to find herself, and in her pain, she found her purpose. Valencia would share her story anonymously, and she realized many women had been through a similar journey. From that point, she made it her mission to help women find themselves and deal with pain.
Valencia urges women always to ensure we have sister-friends who we can share with what we are going through. We need a community to call us out when we are wrong, celebrate our wins, cry with us when necessary and help us up when we’ve been down for too long.
