    EPISODE SUMMARY:

How do you live a more soul-aligned life? How do you get to know your soul?

Today I talk with Vanessa Loder, finance and private equity VP turned women’s career leadership expert, TEDx speaker, and writer. Vanessa is a certified Executive Coach, trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, past life regression hypnosis and Vipassana meditation.

Her personal awakening and transformational work have led to thousands of brilliant, overwhelmed women finding their way back to soul, something her new book “The Soul Solution” helps with.

Listen in to hear about tuning into your own energy and the multidimensionality of our souls.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [3:26] Vanessa’s story. She got to the top of the corporate ladder and thought she’d have more happiness, fulfillment, meaning and purpose in her life. A lasting sense of accomplishment seemed to elude her. She began reading spirituality books, did a hypnosis training and dove into past life regression work. This was how her awakening began in 2009.

    • [8:25] You don’t have to move, leave your relationship, or quit your job in order to have a more soul-aligned life. A lot of small choices and micro-moments can create that connection and attunement. It can be as small as having a five minute ritual in the morning.

    • [10:01] Follow your “energetic breadcrumbs” - inner guidance and little nudges. We need space in our daily lives to receive this guidance. “The Soul Solution” is about learning to listen and trust your intuition and deeper knowing. Ego is incessant, loud, pushy in your head. Soul is gentle, pulls you towards things. You can be aligned with something, but not energetically aligned at the moment.

    • [16:57] Energy needs to precede action, so take time to check in and ask yourself from moment to moment: Where am I right now in my energy? What do I need? Do I feel called to do this thing or am I pushing myself? Stay aware of subtle shifts in your energy field.

    • [18:06] Gold standards vs North Stars. Gold standards are what society tells us we should be achieving. We internalize them and when we fail to meet them, we go into shame and self loathing. Vanessa found it helpful to take a step back, name these standards, and wonder when and why she started to believe these unconscious goals. Follow your North Star - an ever-evolving beacon that you personally strive for.

    • [23:04] Vanessa checks in with herself every week to see if she is living in alignment with her core values. Every year she also likes to tune into a word for her year. This is the specific word, value, or quality of being that she really wants to call in for the year.

    • [27:06] Many women fall into “distorted caregiving”. Patriarchal attitudes often teach women to care for others above themselves, which can make them sick.

    • [29:29] Vanessa’s spiritual journey started with past lives and past-life regression. She began working with the Council of Light and the Blue Council a few months later. She eventually connected with an aspect of her soul on another planet - “multi-dimensional bleedthrough”.

    • [37:16] Vanessa’s multi-dimensional bleedthrough experience. We can heal other aspects of our oversoul in other time, space, and dimensions by healing and integrating lessons here.

    • [42:19] Star seeds have aspects of their consciousness that originate off Earth. They came here for a specific reason - to assist in the awakening and expansion of consciousness happening on Earth. We must each claim our own authority with spiritual and energetic experiences.

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

What is the foundation of our reality?

Today I talk with Mona Sobhani, Ph.D., a cognitive neuroscientist, author, and entrepreneur. She holds a doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Southern California, where she also worked as a research scientist, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Vanderbilt University with the MacArthur Foundation Law and Neuroscience Project.

Listen in to hear about her book Proof of Spiritual Phenomena: A Neuroscientist’s Discovery of the Ineffable Mysteries of the Universe, scientific materialism, consciousness, and more.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [2:57] Mona started on a very traditional route. When you go through the scientific training Mona did, no matter what you come in with, by the time you leave you’ve been indoctrinated and come to fully adopt the world view of scientific materialism.

    • [4:30] In Western culture, many people subscribe to this materialist view. But Mona had an existential crisis that made her reexamine her beliefs. In Persian culture, of which Mona is a part, divination is popular, and in her family it’s the reading of coffee grounds. Her mom had foreseen some things, including those leading to Mona’s crisis, and this led her to start thinking about fate and destiny.

    • [13:44] Everyone is stigmatized when it comes to people going to see a psychic, which is why lab research is so important. Some research centers set up carefully controlled experiments in which they use five shapes on cards, and you ask someone to guess what the next card is. Many will score above chance in both guessing and physiology.

    • [16:38] Some people believe that consciousness is the foundation of our reality rather than matter. If matter is the basis, we’re all separate. But if consciousness—or some kind of energy that runs through everything—is the basis, then that’s what connects us all to one another.

    • [23:00] We’re all more interconnected than we’re aware of, and not just on a systems level, but on an energetic and psychic level as well. For science, this has huge implications for how we do human subject research: What energy or intention is a subject bringing to an experiment? How is it affecting other subjects or the researcher?

    • [34:42] When Mona started reading about phenomena, she would roll her eyes at concepts like past lives. In her scientific framework, it didn't make sense. But once she started reading more physics and philosophy, she realized that if the foundation of reality isn’t matter, then maybe there are frequencies that can live on forever in the universe.

    • [38:56] Mona made a group and launched a website for scientists that are interested in learning more about the spiritual. Many have had spiritual experiences for years and have had no outlets to share or talk about them in the scientific field they’re in.

    FOLLOW MONA SOBHANI:

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

How do we die before we die in order to truly live?

Today I talk with Barbara Becker, an ordained interfaith minister who bridges the sacred and the secular, and has sat with hundreds of people at the end of their lives. Barbara speaks on deepening our sense of meaning & spirituality and mid-career pivots. Her book, Heartwood: The Art of Living with the End in Mind recounts stories where life and death intersect in unexpected ways.

Listen in to hear about the lessons she’s learned from the dying.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [03:48] Heartwood, Barbara’s new book, is a series of stories about our mortality and people she has loved and lost in her life. It’s centered around the metaphor of heartwood; she learned that inside every tree is a pillar called “heartwood” that’s more durable than the rest of the tree. It’s the dead part of the tree, but the tree and its rings wouldn’t be able to grow if it wasn’t for that durable core. We too grow around the people we’ve loved and lost and the lessons they’ve imparted.

    • [12:36] On the day that Heartwood was released into the world, Barbara was having surgery for breast cancer. She was forced to go back and look at some of her own writing and the lessons some of the people in the book had to teach her about loss.

    • [20:10] One thing that Barbara has been privileged to learn from people who are dying is every person has their own nugget of truth. One day, she had a young woman from New Zealand as a patient who was dying alone that said, “Barbara you think I'm alone, but I’m not. In my Maori tradition, we believe our ancestors gather around our bedside when we’re dying to help us pass over. I know they’re here.”

    • [25:31] We need to learn how to dance between the positives and the negatives; because the negatives might not be so negative, and the positives might not be so positive.

    • [28:51] We need to talk to kids about death. In Barbara’s family, her father, a physician, would often talk about death to educate his children. When she was in third grade, Barbara found a picture of another woman in her dad’s wallet—his first wife. She found out that shortly after their honeymoon, she had died.

    • [37:01] When you know someone really wants to live and it’s their time to go, it’s not easy. One of the things that helped Barbara when her mother was dying is that she gave her kids a choice to be with their grandmother or not. They decided to see her, and everyone gathered around her bedside and sang Christmas songs — her favorite — before she told them her life stories.

    • [39:43] Barbara has been privy to many amazing stories from people on their deathbeds, but there’s nothing like the stories from people you know. When her childhood friend was dying, Barbara remembers the vivid childhood memories she shared. She believes being at the end of someone’s life is a very sacred moment to witness.

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

How can you give your grief a place to go?

Today I talked with Erika Gabriel, a spiritual teacher, wayfinder, and medium. Her lifelong journey has led her to delivering powerful messages from the spirit world. Because Erika believes everyone can work with Spirit, she has just released a course called The Way and also hosts a podcast.

Listen in to hear about the acceptance of grief, how to connect spiritually by connecting with yourself, and more.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [03:16] The specialness of evidential mediumship is seen when specific things come through and deeply resonate with people. This way, on a spiritual, mental, emotional, and soul-level, that person has an acknowledgement and understanding that their loved one is still with them.

    • [7:42] When you think about a loved one that was on earth that you’re missing, you’re in a painful spot. While you can acknowledge those feelings on earth, talking to them on the other side gives you somewhere to go, because you can think of them now. If you can find a way to listen to your intuitive voice, you can give your grief a place to go.

    • [10:53] For people who want to connect spiritually, don’t focus on the end result. First start to practice connecting with yourself by quieting your mind and listening to your own inner voice.

    • [19:51] Only work with a medium if you feel drawn to them. If you're unsure, your intuition is telling you something isn’t right, or the timing isn’t right. Don’t get the reading.

    • [28:20] People are missing the understanding that we are all connected. We have a direct line to the divine and God. God is running through us, permeating the space around us, and connecting us all. We’re a part of that and chose to come here to experience that. Leaning into that is worship.

    • [30:30] The Way is an opening of self reflection and understanding followed by concrete, down-to-earth tools to help you move through roadblocks and access your true potential.

    • [31:11] If you received everything you ever wanted tomorrow, would you be ready?

Light Codes: A Universal Language with Rhiannon Heins Feb 09, 2023

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

Have you heard of light codes before? Do they sound a bit too “woo” for you? What if I told you they’re something that can easily become part of your everyday life?

Today we talk with Rhiannon Heins, an Australian healer, intuitive, and energy worker, founder of the Intuitive Rebirth Energy-Work Method, and #1 bestselling author.

Her new book “The Keepers of the Light Codes” is a channeled text meant to initiate light workers out of a never-ending spiritual search and into their highest expressions of self. Her life’s work is centered around helping to initiate heart-centered healers and leaders.

Listen in to learn more about the divine energies that are all around us and how to integrate them into your daily life.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [3:12] How Rhiannon started channeling in her early 20’s. Lost, disconnected, and unfulfilled she began doing yoga and connecting with herself. She took a leap of faith and moved into her fear. She kept asking for help internally and her life changed almost overnight.

    • [7:18] Her intuitive connection opened through tangible, real-life experiences and grew almost instantaneously. She finally saw how magical and miraculous life was and anchored herself in that energy. Her gifts exploded rapidly.

    • [9:16] Rhiannon’s understanding of who she is channeling has changed over time. She didn’t know who was coming through at first. Over time, she realized the beings she channeled matched her own energy.

    • [11:30] Rhiannon began connecting with Ascended Masters like Mother Mary and Quan Yin. She received transmissions of energies through images. We can call on specific energies to channel. Don’t limit yourself to one vibrational frequency.

    • [16:16] We all have an army of resonant light beings and souls around us. These are souls we’ve met across lifetimes, galactic beings we resonate with, holy masters, and angels we’ve connected with. We just have to create mental space so that we can feel into them. Presence brings space for intuitive insight. You don’t always need meditation to tap into higher consciousness.

    • [22:13] We are all channels. We all channel wisdom and creative insight. Actors are great examples of people tuning into and embodying a specific frequency.

    • [22:57] Light codes are wisdom embedded in higher energies that we can embody and bring down to earth. Wisdom is layered.

    • [24:00] Rhiannon’s book is split into two sections. Lessons, which are simple teachings about our true nature, and initiations. Initiations are energy work embedded in text that work on our layers of resistance to higher consciousness. Some may not affect us because we’ve already worked through them.

    • [27:16] We are all here to be keepers of light codes. We must awaken and shake off societal constraints and the illusions of unworthiness and doubt.

    • [28:30] As her awareness has changed, the way Rhiannon experiences day-to-day life has also changed. It’s all divine. Nonjudgmental awareness of all aspects of self allows for divine experience. The divine is always there.

    • [31:24] Integrating higher energies into daily life is hard for most. It’s why a lot of people suffer. Many spiritualists escape into these higher energies. This world is hard, but it’s also full of so much magic. You just have to look around.

    • [33:45] Galactic Federation or “Army” of Light. Many light beings are incarnated here right now. There are light beings all throughout space and time. When you weave them all together, they are a wise collective consciousness.

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

What do you do when thinking isn’t working?

Today I talk with Michael Sandler, cohost of the popular Inspire Nation show—a transformational, self-help, spiritually-focused podcast and Youtube channel—speaker, entrepreneur, visionary coach, and author of The Automatic Writing Experience (AWE): How to Turn Your Journaling into Channeling to Get Unstuck, Find Direction, and Live Your Greatest Life!

Listen in to hear about Michael’s new book, spirituality, and how he got into automatic writing and contact with the other side.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [3:27] Michael has had two near death experiences, after which his whole perspective on the world changed. As he lay there dying, he had an ear-to-ear grin and a big-picture understanding of the whole world. He knew everything was one.
    • [10:28] You learn lessons from the other side and bring them back, but your egoic mind is still your egoic mind. So then the question becomes: how do you integrate?
    • [20:23] Part of where automatic writing comes from is the you, the energetic being stuffed into this tiny little meat suit, and the you that is everywhere, that is eternal. The eternal you speaks the language you need to access, and then just has to get that information down into the human version of you. The wisdom is within you.
    • [25:26] The AWE process is a ritual or ceremony in which you go into a quiet, meditative state, write out an intention prayer, and then an invocation prayer. As you listen to theta brain wave music and enter that state, you have your pen to paper and the pen will continue to go even after you’re done writing your prayers.
    • [29:31] Angels can’t help you unless you ask for help. If you ask if it’s the ego, the ego will always tell you. Asking yes or no questions is an easy way to get stuck in the egoic mind. After a while, you can ask the deep questions in about 10 different ways.
    • [34:22] Communicating with spirits starts with writing; however, what you’re doing is creating a connection. At first it's a smoke signal, then it’s dial up, then cable, then fiber optic, and then things will start to come through without even needing to write.
    • [37:54] Being energetically extra sensitive makes you an empath; you're a mystic in disguise. You can learn how to dial in those energies with automatic writing.

How can we heal ourselves and others?

Today I talk with Frans Stiene, a major influence on the global research into the system of reiki since the early 2000s. His practical understanding of the Japanese influence on the system has allowed students around the world to connect deeply with this practice. He’s the co-founder of the International House of Reiki and the Shibumi International Reiki Association, and the author of The Inner Heart of Reiki, Reiki Insights, and the new The Way of Reiki - The Inner Teachings of Mikao Usui, among others.

Listen in to hear how Frans defines and understands reiki, how it relates to different symbols, energy, healing, and more.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [1:52] Traditionally the word reiki was pointing to your own true nature, your essence, your inner, great bright light. There were very specific practices within the system of reiki in order to really lay that luminosity bare.
    • [6:29] When we let go of the ego, we have direct unification with what is, with our minds and the universe. When that happens, a lot of energy starts to emanate from us and we can start to help others with that energy.
    • [16:20] The precepts in the system of reiki are: do not anger, do not worry, be grateful, be true to your way of being, and be compassionate to yourself and others. Ultimately within your inner bright light—your inner luminosity—there is no anger or worry; the more we let go of that, love and kindness automatically come forward.
    • [22:18] If your mind is distracted, automatically your energy is distracted. Our mind affects our energy and our body. If we’re angry, it will constrict my energy; it’s very obvious. But in a lot of healing practices, this isn’t taught.
    • [25:12] There’s a merger of energy between healer and the person being healed; which is why the healer’s energy is so important. If the healer is using their energy to heal, it must be luminous. The more we practice for ourselves and the healing deepens for us, the more we can help others.
    • [28:02] Often humans like to do things; we like to stimulate our energies, but this can make that energy distracted. Instead, we can go into a very deep state of mind where it feels like we’re like the sun, then all we have to do is simply let that sun shine.
    • [32:10] When we have a taste of expansion, freedom, or returning to ourselves, then we have an address and know how to get back there. If we have that taste, then we can continue to practice and know if we’re on the right path or not.

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

My first ghost story of 2023! These episodes are an opportunity for my listeners to share their stories of a loved one who’s passed, or a sign of life on the other side.

Sometimes you ask yourself if you’re making it all up, but some experiences are so powerful that our listener knew it was real. This listener has always been a very sensitive person, and has been in touch with spiritual activity since she was a child, but this experience was different.

Recently, during a visit with her mother in law, she put on an old cape and heard someone say “I’m here, alright?” Her mother-in-law responded, “Ok, I’ve heard you.” She figured it was her mother-in-law’s husband letting her know he was back from the pub, but it was something else entirely…

Listen in to hear this listener’s story of realizing what she experienced was real—because someone else experienced it too—and how her mother came to visit her during a reiki session.

DO YOU HAVE A GHOST STORY?

    EPISODE SUMMARY:

    Are you breathing?

Today I talk with Em Hollis, a women’s empowerment coach and breathwork facilitator. She’s passionate about sharing her story of going from a depressed, pain-pill addicted, stressed-out, insecure, self-proclaimed people-pleaser mom, wife, and business owner to living a life of freedom both internally and externally in all areas.

Listen in to hear how Em helps people live life beyond their limits, get back in touch with their bodies, and connect with their higher selves.

    Topics We Discuss:

    • [2:37] The concept of breath being a tool for transformation or spiritual growth goes back thousands of years, but only now are more people becoming aware of it.
    • [8:25] What drives Em’s work is that breathwork allows people to connect with and feel their souls, their higher beings and selves, while also simultaneously feeling their bodies. Bridging both of those worlds is where the magic can occur.
    • [13:33] Just learning how to extend one’s exhale, which is supposed to help with relaxation, can actually trigger panic in some people. Many are so used to looking out for threats and being in that hypervigilant fight or flight state that a parasympathetic response can feel unsafe.
    • [20:35] We’ve all disconnected so much from our bodies. Our breath is the only thing that keeps us alive and yet we’re so disconnected from it. Em explored meditation for years but felt there was a missing piece for integration: breath was that piece.
    • [28:37] You don’t need to know where an emotion is coming from, your breath will bring it up. That’s because when you make breathwork a part of your practice, it triggers your limbic brain and people start having access to more memories.
    • [30:24] Em leads us in a five minute rhythmic breathing session. It makes me feel buzzy and clear-headed. That’s because when doing breathwork, you’re going into a parasympathetic response, and when we relax more we can more easily tune into those frequencies.
    • [38:22] Em does a free breathwork ceremony on the first Sunday of every month. Follow her on Eventbrite to sign up!
