Out of Site: Episode 88 with Dave Early. Dissecting Joel Embiid's offseason tweets, Jimmy Butler's ghost and more May 31, 2022
    Show notes

The Out of Site Podcast has returned on a Tuesday. Your host, Adio Royster recorded during his time away from 'Korkmaz Island' with guest David Early because "Troel" Embiid has made a new appearance as of last week. The Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Center still has some feelings about Jimmy Butler, and he had some tweets expressing .. his .. missing (?) .. of Jimmy Butler yet again. Embiid has done this before, and while some may have chalked Embiid's antics to the usual ribbings from Embiid, there are others that decided to swing that pendulum all the way in the other direction. What did Adio and Dave think about Embiid's Tweets, and did they really mean anything?

The Gastroenteritis Blues: (124) Doc Stays in Philly, Joel Snubbed by First Team, Tobias Harris Year in Review May 30, 2022
    Show notes

On tonight's episode of The Gastroenteritis Blues, Steve and Emily discuss the sad news of the Lakers hiring Darvin Ham as head coach, rather than Doc Rivers. They forlornly discuss what is all but sure to be another year of Rivers coaching the Sixers, and whether or not things with Doc are as bad as they at times feel. Also, what about the widespread fan opinion that Daryl Morey would like to fire Doc if not for Sixers' owners pinching pennies?

Then, they lash out NBA media voters for once again snubbing Joel Embiid from All-NBA First Team despite ranking second in MVP voting for the second consecutive season.

After the break, Emily and Steve are joined by Drew to take a comprehensive look at Tobias Harris' year in Philadelphia. A mostly down year from the forward has his future in Philly once again in doubt, so the trio takes a look at his stats, contract, and where he and the Sixers are likely to go from here.

-Will Harden opt-in or sign a new deal? What could that contract look like?

-What does Harden’s role look like for 2022-23? Will he recover from the hamstring or is father time catching up to him?

Out of Site: Episode 87. Furkan Korkmaz season-in-review. Should the Sixers move on from Furk? May 24, 2022
    Show notes

The 2021-2022 Philadelphia 76ers season has been over for a few weeks, now. Players have had their exit interviews. Coaches have had theirs. Even Daryl Morey made some comments regarding the future. The future is still bright(ish) for the Sixers going into next season, but we at Liberty Ballers wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't do our own 'Year in Reviews' for presidents of basketball operations, and coaches or players, ourselves. There have been several on the site and on the podcast network. This podcast marks Adio Royster's turn. As the sole inhabitant of 'Korkmaz Island', he's tasked with putting some kind of positive spin on Furkan Korkmaz's season. Were there any positives? At times, there may have been, but how much of it was on Korkmaz, and how much of it was on head coach Doc Rivers's choice of rotations, etc? As we go into next season, what are the positives and negatives of keeping the Turkish Delight on the roster

The Gastroenteritis Blues: (123) Daryl is Going Star Hunting Again & Matisse Thybulle Season in Review May 23, 2022
    Show notes

On tonight's episode of The Gastroenteritis Blues, Steve and Emily first discuss a handful of assorted notes from the week: a rumor that Daryl Morey is dead-set on acquiring a third star this summer, the status of Doc Rivers' rumored flirtation with the Los Angeles Lakers, Danny Green's ever-so-brief trash talk to Patrick Beverley, and whether or not Tyrese Maxey ought to be untouchable on the trade market.

In the second half of the podcast, the hosts discuss Sixers swingman Matisse Thybulle being named to his second consecutive All-Defense team before diving deep on what they make of his turbulent season in Philadelphia. Is his defense overrated? Do they want him traded this offseason? If his Sixers career is over, what will serve as the inflection point of his stint in red, white, and blue? Notes on his statistics and contract status within.
