Sweet Tea & Second Chances Jul 29, 2020

Show notes

This week we're reading Sweet Tea & Second Chances by Dylann Crush. This book is exactly what you think it is, no more and no less. We still had a whole heap of fun reading it. Speaking of second chances, tune in to hear Austin try and dig himself out of a hole from the jump.

Little League Heroes Jul 08, 2020

Show notes

This week we're reading Little League Heroes by Joe Jackson. Ah, baseball - our National Pastime. Do you hear that? The crack of the bat, the snap of a ball hitting the glove, the low chanting of the crowd, Mikey's dad yelling at the ump for calling his kids pitch a strike when it was really up and in, little Jake Kirby crying in the dugout...

...because this is LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL. They say everything is bigger in Texas, yes. But they ALSO say everything is smaller in South Williamsport, PA (home of the Little League World Series), especially the athletes.

Back to the Future Jun 16, 2020

Show notes

This week we're reading "Back to the Future" by George Gipe. Ganesh wanted to read the novelization of his favorite 80's sci-fi movie - unfortunately, we couldn't get our hands on "Short Circuit" so this will have to do. Whether you're a George McFly (Shane?) or a Biff Tannen (Definitely Ganesh), there's a little something for everyone in this adaptation of a SILVER SCREEN classic. Even if you don't love the movie, tune in to hear Ganesh fumble around with a real book.

Humpty Bumpkin May 26, 2020

Show notes

This week we're reading "Humpty Bumpkin" by Sam Cheever. Turns out "Humpty Bumpkin" isn't just the legal name on Shane's birth certificate, it's a book! About murder! And debutantes! Pour yourself a glass of sweet tea and throw away that medical mask, we're taking a trip DOWN SOUTH.

Alien Prison Ship May 05, 2020

Show notes

This week we're reading "Alien Prison Ship" by Terrance Mulloy. It's a dark time right now and I think we could all use something light and optimistic to pick us up and keep us going. Unfortunately we're reading a book about a group of alien prisoners who crash land on Earth and wreak havoc on the good people of Atlanta, Georgia. Spoiler: The only good alien in the book is a prison guard. Life sucks!

Show notes

Hey folks - we're still quarantined as hell, so no new episode this week. But don't worry - you can still get your Amazon Book Club fix. We're remastering, remixing, and releasing some of our older episodes to get them up to our current GOLD STANDARD. Take a trip down memory lane with us, won't you?

This week we're reading "The Magpies" by Mark Edwards. This one's got it all! Sex! Fire! Relentless ass kicking! British slang in a Boston (???) accent! Our first LISTENER MAILBAG! Not to mention, a brand new full length track from the one and only MORRIS REESE! Could you ask for more? Why would you? Who do you think you are???

Dinosaur Lake Feb 24, 2020

Show notes

This week we're reading "Dinosaur Lake" by Kathryn Meyer Griffith. There's a dino on the loose and the only one who can do a damn thing about it is a bumbling park ranger. Imagine Jurassic Park meets Yogi Bear, read in chunks by three idiots who can hardly keep up.
