180 | Phoebe Lapine on The Wellness Project, Health vs. Hedonism, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Only Childisms, Cooking + More! Jul 19, 2017
    Show notes

Ever since my friend Jess Murnane told me about Phoebe I wanted to be her friend. It wasn't until I met her in person for the is podcast that I truly realized how smart, funny, wise, and interesting she is. She's one of those people I could talk to for hours and in this episode I did. We recorded this conversation a couple weeks ago in Williamsburg, Brooklyn over cranberry kombucha. Phoebe recently wrote her second book book, The Wellness Project, which highlights so much of what I have been trying to integrate into my life over the past couple years: balancing healthy habits with enjoyment of life (or as Phoebe describes it health vs. hedonism). We also talk about the balance between being ambitious and letting things happen without pushing and about following your passion even when the path is unclear. Between all these topics you'll hear about my kitchen horror stories (knife scars and all) along with laughs of us bonding over being only children and loving New York City. This is my favorite episode I've done in a while and I think you'll love it too.

I'm hoping to do some summer listener meet-ups here in NYC in the upcoming months so be sure to sign-up for the mailing list to get all the updates on that. And if you aren't already a member of the Podcast Listener group on Facebook it's a great place to continue the conversation by telling me what you are grateful for right now so I can explore new things as well. Since this is the first episode I am doing since moving to NYC you will notice I talk a lot about all the places I've been eating at and exploring around my city. Being in a new city has been a fun and exciting change for me. New York is so vast there's so much I want to eat and do and see so I'm constantly taking notes on new places to explore so please share your suggestions with me on social media.

176 | Danielle LaPorte on on Self-Help Exhaustion, A New Way to Use Gratitude, Feminism, Creativity, Motherhood, & Flow Jun 21, 2017
    Show notes

I love Danielle LaPorte and her work. I've been following her closely for over 5 years, reading every book and listening to her on every podcast. She's been a mentor from afar and on my list of future pod guests (and a popular request from so many listeners!) since day one.. Danielle embodies so much of what I admire in a women. She values creativity above all else, has learned from experience how to combine fierce persistence with ease, finds gratitude in even the craziest situations, and mothers in a way I admire. She is constantly growing and learning, which she talks about on today's episode as well as in her new book, White Hot Truth, which I loved. It's a refreshing self-help book that's unlike any other self-help content. It's a playbook for owning our individual joy and spirituality without all the dogma and rules the modern personal growth world often promotes. This is one of those books that you want in hardcopy; to read, reread, underline, and notate. I took so many notes from this book about life, creativity, gratitude, finding flow and more. We cover all of these topics plus some of my others I was eager to ask Danielle about like feminism, body image, motherhood, full-time jobs and entrepreneurship, and of course the usual quick fire questions. Let me know your favorite parts in the facebook group and be sure to find me on social media so we can be friends there too.

175 | Ashley C Ford on Communication, Contentment, Love, Relationships, and Writing Jun 14, 2017
    Show notes

I discovered Ashley C Ford a few years ago on Lena Dunham's podcast Women of the Hour. After listening to her very soothing voice for the hour and connecting with what she spoke, I started following her on Twitter (highly recommend) and reading every essay she's ever written. She's one of the most honest and talented writers I've ever read and I admire her deeply....which you'll hear me gush about throughout this episode. If you have gotten any of my recent emails or if your in the podcast facebook group it's likely you have seen me sharing Ashley Ford's writings. Specifically this last essay she did which I've shared a bunch. Ashley is a brilliant, and incredibly authentic--the type of person I could spend all day talking with. She has been one of my mentors from afar and I'm super excited to continue to learn from her and hopefully take classes from her eventually. In today's conversation we explore topics like "feeling enough", relationships, contentment, of course writing, moving to New York from the Midwest, body image, and the importance of communication. I loved this episode and I love this person.

    Nudu Skin Care Products

I'm super excited to have one of my favorite new skincare products as a sponsor for the pod! Nudu's products are 10% natural and honestly have been a life saver for my skin in the past couple months. They have products based on your skin type (so it's not a one size fits all) and I've been loving the small bottles which I carry with me when I travel. No matter where I go I can treat my skin to a mini-facial each day. I highly recommend giving the products a try + in addition to the discount below they have a 60 day money back guarantee!

Use the code "LETITOUT" at checkout for 20% off any order.

Kim Anami's Vaginal Kung Fu Course

With all the hype around yoni eggs Kim had decided to do a second round of her Vaginal Kung Fu course this summer. She usually only runs the course once a year so if you were interested in or missed the last one I highly recommend taking it now. The course dives into all kinds of juicy exercises and info about how to use your sexual power to magnetize what you want into your life by being connected to your sexual energy and to your vagina. Both myself and pod producer Amanda have taken this course and love it. It has changed our relationships with our bodies, our being, and we still utilize the practices and reference the materials even years after taking the course. You can re-listen to the episode with her on the podcast here.

Learn more about the course here.
    Registration opens June 1st
Kim will be hosting a Q&A on the course June 7th @ 5pm PST
