    While Aurora is quite cute, and a little different from most champions that come from the Frejlord, we seem to be the most excited about Anivia getting some attention for once. As promised, there's no short story for Aurora, but The Witch Between Worlds did have an extremely cute mini-games with Ornn in the client.     One sword, two swords, red sword, whose swords? Yone, they're Yone's swords. Unlike his highly catalogued brother, Yone has only a smattering of lore. The pieces about him tend to get caught up in the flash of his blades, and don't let us peel back the mask to see the character underneath. There were certain versions of Yone we preferred over others, and his and Yasuo's cooking AU left us all hungry for more. Add in a dash of "wait, is this like, him for real?" from the Spirit Blossom skinline, and we've got a recipe for success.

    Sometimes we forget how old Syndra is, and then we remember when we look at her 15 quotes and read her lackluster lore. We got to use the "P" word again for this one because WOW does she have a lot of it. Between hating Ionia and not even knowing what the heck Noxus is, Syndra would pair up well with so many League champs. And yet, she has met none of them. She's just flying around Ionia throwing orphans out of a castle (probably).

And do the birds watch, or is it more of a ceiling mirror situation? While we can't help but enjoy the overflowing-with-cool Noxian strategist, we also can't help but wish Riot would stop being so dodgy about what his real deal actually is. Maybe our resident notTywin Lannister will get some more nitty gritty details in the future, but for now we enjoy his dark and mysterious aura.

Sivir didn't have much going on until they used her to resurrect Azir and kick off a war between a bunch of Ascended, although Sivir doesn't seem to care about any of that (mood). She's a simple gal with dead parents who just wants to rob people, but also maybe uhhh take away Ascenion from Darkin and uhhh use it for something else. We'll see I guess!

    We FINALLY get some insight into Ixtal, and it only took us to episode 105! There are a lot of neat ideas floating around this part of Runeterra, and it is laden with that dreaded word - potential. Unfortunately, Riot seems to have tried making up for the lack of Ixtali lore by putting about 300 pages worth of worldbuilding and magic-system-explanations into a single short story, with mixed results. Despite our misgivings, we ended up liking Qiyana's characterization, and were left wanting more of her and her home empire. Also, stick around for erotic gum commercials, Keanu Reeves puns, and vicious dirty laundry airing.

    It is quite appropriate that Nidalee's lore has her abandoned in the jungle, given how Riot has left her lore abandoned as well. Without a strong set of stories or a vibrant in-game character, Nidalee feels like she needs some major work to get her up to snuff. To make matters worse, any hopes of finding solace in the Journal of Justice have been drowned out by Riot's one-track mind when it comes to 'cougar'-related wordplay.

    Probably the most offensive thing about the Rise of the Sentinels event is the visual novel. So we ranted about it for over an hour! And summarize, in case you were lucky enough to miss it. Truly we can't wrap our head around the bad humor, Olaf farting jokes, and Senna's complete lack of personality. And that's barely scratching the surface of why this is so terrible. Let's just ignore all the Targon lore. Gangplank is back??? Apparently! Diana met some Lunari and...has her weapon again? WHAT IS THIS??

Riot Games has been prepping lore fans for this Ruination event for so long, a lot of people thought that it was never going to happen. And now we're all wishing it didn't. With inconsistent characters, plot lines, and straight up ignoring their own lore, the Rise of the Sentinels event was a massive failure that plenty of League Lore experts already broke down extremely well. We don't break it down well, but we sure do complain a lot!

Between an interesting relationship with Leona (Riot pls make them gay we all know it's true), and an intense conflict with the people who raised her, Diana has a lot of room for interesting stories.
