EP 178 | NFBC ADP Review Picks 178-193 Feb 24, 2023

Show notes

Welcome back to the Launch Angle podcast with new host Rob DiPietro (@deadpullhitter @PullHitterPod) joining industry heavyweights Jeff Zimmerman ( @jeffwzimmerman ) and Rob Silver ( @RobSilver ). We start off the show talking about Jeff's Mining The News article on Fangraphs.com. Here is an excerpt from it:

" On the infield, there will be no more shifts. Teams must have at least two fielders stationed on each side of second base, standing on the dirt. But one overlooked rule: Infielders can actually switch positions between innings (though not during innings). So say an opposing team had two lefties due up. The Tigers could conceivably move Javier Báez to second base, move Jonathan Schoop from second to third and move Nick Maton from third to short. That would allow the rangy Báez to patrol the infield against lefty hitter." We talk about how that can impact player eligibility in season and for next year as well.
