Amazon’s highly anticipated new series Classified blends teenage drama with international suspense and intrigue. Premiering on both Prime Video and Amazon FreeVee, Classified follows 15-year-old Ella, an Oakland, CA, student who is arrested at a protest and facing jail time. Ella avoids incarceration thanks to her stepmother’s connections, but as part of the deal, she must leave her home and spend the remainder of her secondary education with her father and stepmother in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ella’s world is turned upside down as she navigates a very different reality than the one she has known. (See the trailer). To discuss the series is Christine Horn who stars as Ella’s stepmother Dianne. The award-winning actress has appeared in more than 70 roles across theater, film and television including Snowfall, Black Mafia Family, Grey's Anatomy, Black-ish, The Lincoln Lawyer, Shameless and Terminator: Dark Fate to name just a few. And series creator Kagiso Lediga is a celebrated South African stand-up comedian and a multiple award-winning actor, writer, director and producer of film and TV. He also serves as showrunner, lead director, and writer on the series.
