EMERGENCY POD! | Vicario Out For Months! • Can Forster Perform? • Free Transfer Market • Spurs' Season Impact? Nov 27, 2024

Show notes

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by returning regular guests Lee McQueen, Richard Cracknell and Jason McGovern as the panel react to the news of Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has undergone surgery after suffering a fractured ankle during the 4-0 victory at Manchester City on Saturday, the club has announced. Vicario completed the full 90 minutes of the game at the Etihad, but the club have revealed he suffered the injury during the match. The 28-year-old underwent treatment late in the first half and re-emerged limping after half-time, although he went on to make three second-half saves.

Vicario is yet to miss a single minute of Premier League football since joining from Empoli last summer, playing all of their 38 games last season and each of the 12 league matches so far in 2024/25. Fraser Forster, who made 14 Premier League appearances for the club in his debut season in 2022/23, will be most likely to stand in for Vicario in his absence, having been on the bench for 11 of their 12 league matches so far this term.

Show notes

Host Ricky Sacks is joined by co-host Jason McGovern and special guest in Tottenham Hotspur legendary figure David Pleat.

Pleat spent over 20 years at Spurs in several roles, starting as manager between 1986 and 1987. After leaving his role in 2004, he returned again in 2010 as part of the Spurs' scouting department.

From his debut as an England Schoolboy international in 1960 to his time as a scout for Tottenham Hotspur up to 2024, his is a story that touches every facet of the professional game. However, Just One More Goal is not just an account of one man’s lifelong obsession with football. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Wiliams, Actor TJ Ramini and YouTuber Jonny H as Ipswich recorded their first Premier League win of the season with a shock 2-1 win over sloppy and lacklustre Tottenham.

Ipswich raced into a first-half lead courtesy of Sam Szmodics' clever overhead kick and Liam Delap's close-range finish. It left Spurs in another sticky situation up against a dogged and determined visitors who knew a storm was coming their way in the second half. Yet it never really materialised as only a Rodrigo Bentancur header found the net for underwhelming Spurs, who struggled to create clear-cut chances although Dominic Solanke thought he had scored on 52 minutes but his effort was out by VAR for a handball.

Spurs were booed off by their home fans at full-time. They have seen their side lose five games already this season in the Premier League as Ange Postecoglou is struggling to find the key.
