FULL: Power ranking Lakers issues (beyond, you know, senioritis) Mar 26, 2025

Show notes

Anthony isn't actually all that concerned long-term about the Lakers (so long as they get healthy). But, as our job is to explain why things are the way they are or might be, Anthony offers up a power ranking of issues he's actually nervous about. Then, as part of an experiment, he turns the show on its head and the live audience gets to decide what he talks about.

PART ONE: The offense is too boring Mar 26, 2025

Show notes

There's no way around it at this point. The offense is still predicated solely on LeBron, Luka and Austin being good at basketball, which, fine, yes they are. But they also could use some tactical help. At some point, the coaching staff is going to have to get those guys to run something. Together. Anthony talks about that, the defense and transition opportunities.

PART TWO: What type of player do the Lakers need to add this summer? Mar 26, 2025

Show notes

The Lakers are going to have a ton to do this summer. A live viewer wanted to know what Anthony would make his top priority and the kind of player who would make the most sense. Ironically, the guy they really need is the guy(s) they traded for Luka Doncic.

PART THREE: Are the Lakers saving their sets for the playoffs? Mar 26, 2025

Show notes

A listener was iffy about asking the question but, since it's on so many people's minds, it's actually a good one. The Lakers haven't been running enough organized offense with LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves on the court together. Is one explanation that they're just holding off so those sets can't be scouted?

LOWDOWN: Lakers lose to Magic; Will the offense ever overwhelm? Mar 25, 2025

Show notes

Anthony discusses some of the specifics from another annoying loss. Mostly, though, this game should serve as a reminder to not take other dumb losses because there are always games right around the corner here the other team just shoots you out of the gym. Also, Anthony is starting to get a liiiiiiittle nervous about the offense.
