The Importance of Shooting Jun 21, 2021
    Show notes

We all know that shooting is a key ingredient to playing winning basketball in the modern NBA. However, how critical was the Lakers fall-off in 3-point accuracy to their 1st round playoff exit and did the playoffs reveal certain truths about the quality of shooters the Lakers have? How much should the team prioritize shooting, particularly in relation to how much the team values strong defensive players, when building out their roster this offseason? Would a shooting big man or a point guard with better 3-point range and accuracy help this team more? Pete, Mike, and Darius debate these questions and more when looking back at the Lakers season and forward into next season.

    Drummond Jun 17, 2021

Andre Drummond. For many Lakers fans, just hearing his name inspires a visceral reaction and triggers strong opinions about how much his mid-season acquisition created a chain reaction in the team's center rotation that negatively impacted the course of the season. After getting a half-season's look at the former all-star, Pete, Mike, and Darius try to decipher how much of that is fair, how much is scapegoating Drummond for things that really aren't his fault, and whether they see him as a long term fit for the team going forward.

    Dennis Schröder's Season Jun 15, 2021
    Show notes

Pete, Darius, and Mike evaluate the ups and downs of the Dennis experience and try to put his season into context while debating whether his player archetype is the right fit as the 3rd wheel next to the Lakers two superstars.

Back At It Jun 14, 2021
    Show notes

Should the Lakers "run it back" next season? How does the front office balance evaluating players on their individual merits vs. how those players could have performed in better defined roles if the team had stayed healthy? Pete, Darius, and Mike discuss these questions and more in their first look at the Lakers heading into the offseason. Later, the guys discuss the playoff series between the Jazz and Clippers, debating Donovan Mitchell's value vs. that of Rudy Gobert while also looking at how much missing Mike Conley really matters in the face of the Clippers playing smaller.

AD Injured As Lakers Lose Game 4 May 31, 2021
    Show notes

Pete, Darius, and Mike break down all of game 4, focusing in on the team's 2nd quarter struggles, what adjustments the Suns made to get better offensive looks, why Marc Gasol's minutes were so impactful, and how the Lakers approach for game 5 can be informed by their comeback that fell short.
