Introducing: A new season of 'Darkness' Jan 31, 2025

On the evening of April 16, 1960, a young woman from McAllen, Texas named Irene Garza went to church for confession. She never returned home. A week later, her body was found floating in a canal. Decades would pass before the priest who murdered Irene was brought to justice in a historic case for the church and the Rio Grande Valley.

In Season five of “Darkness,” host Talisa Treviño details the decades-long fight for justice for Irene. Hear from the investigators who tackled the case and Irene’s loved ones, as well as survivors of abuse in the Catholic church.

Introducing a new series from The Drag: "Forsaken."

"Forsaken" is a series that explores the systems that both enhance and oppress the lives of the more than 29 million people living in Texas. Each episode will address issues that Texans face each day – the good and the bad. We’ll explore the criminal justice system, Texas politics, civil rights, social issues and even a little bit of history. Texas is the second-most diverse state in the nation and has equally diverse stories to tell. As the legendary late Texas singer Billy Joe Shaver sings: “You fathers and you mothers / Be good to one another / Please try to raise your children right / Don’t let the darkness take ‘em / Don’t make ‘em feel forsaken / Just lead ‘em safely to the light.”

6. 'We’ve got things to do' Jul 25, 2023

An increasingly confident Lady Bird hits the campaign trail yet again as her husband makes a bid for the U.S. Senate. She’s not just smiling and shaking hands anymore. She’s becoming a political force. Lady Bird meets Jackie Kennedy, a young congressional wife. Just a few years later, their husbands would square off in a contest to be the Democrats’ choice for the U.S. presidency. LBJ settles for being Kennedy’s vice president, but tragedy thrusts the Johnsons into the world’s spotlight .

On the day the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, everything in the United States changed, including for Lady Bird. With Lyndon away for the war, she runs his congressional office at a time in which women didn’t have a seat at the table. She also starts a media empire in Austin and plants roots in Washington. Then, she prepares for the Johnson family to get a little bit bigger.

After a life spent in Texas, Lady Bird moves to Washington, D.C. with her new husband. . Lady Bird begins her life as a political wife and close confidant of a rising political star. LBJ runs for a U.S. House seat, and Lady Bird tries to keep her mercurial husband stable on the campaign trail.
