Our guest this week is another hardcore Huntington Beach OG. A former pro snowboarder turned entrepreneur, he's had an impressive run across multiple industries over the past 20 years. From working as a physical therapist to repping for O’Neill Snow, his hustle never stopped. In 2004, after his cousin Brandon McGuinness (RIP) was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, he co-founded the F C Cancer Foundation—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on early detection and prevention. As Executive Director and CEO, he’s dedicated his life to pushing the Foundation’s mission forward. We’re stoked to hear about his journey, the legacy he's building, and the future he’s shaping. Our guest this week is a legendary surf filmmaker. He’s been instrumental in launching and elevating countless pro surf careers, not just through his iconic SNAPT film franchise, but also as an agent, manager, life coach, therapist, and even bankroller. One of the most unselfish humans we know, he once helped raise money for a prosthetic leg for Costa Rican ripper Daniel Meléndez Dávila.

The last few years have been incredibly challenging for him, with a heavy load of family trauma and, on top of that, being robbed of $150,000 by a professional theft ring, which he courageously helped expose and bring to justice.

Yet somehow, through all the adversity, he persevered and delivered what might be his most anticipated film yet. We’re honored to welcome to the show the man behind the SNAPT surf film, Mr. Logan “CHUCKY” Dulien.

A pioneer from the golden era of surf, skate, and punk rock he lived at the heart of it all during the wild ride of the 80s and 90s. He’s the founder and driving force behind SkaterBuilt, a brand that’s took him around the globe with some of the most iconic Surfers and Skaters we know! With over 200 surfboards in his collection, he’s more than just a collector, he’s a living curator of Surf culture, preserving the soul and stories of our history!

From backyard ramps to punk rock chaos, “DAVE-O” has lived it all. Raw, Real, and Loud, and though he’s faced serious health challenges, he is now on the road to recovery after heart failure. But he’s still here, still standing, and still charging with the same fire he’s always had.

We’re beyond honored to have him with us, in person today, the one and only, Dave “DAVE-O” Hegstrom.

His creative journey took off at 7Diamonds, where he worked as a graphic artist and designer, handling everything from catalog layouts to curating photo shoots, and even managing the design team.

He later became the head boardshort designer at O’Neill, bringing his vision and passion to one of the industry’s most iconic brands. But his creativity didn’t stop there. With a deep love for surfboards and a strong design background, he naturally evolved into a talented shaper, crafting custom boards under his own label, The Kraft Surfboards.

Our guest this week has been shaping the tech side of the Surf Industry for over 25 years. His journey began in 2000 with tech support and customer service at Swell.com, and soon after, he made his mark at Surfline, starting in ad sales and eventually leading the charge in media innovation.
By 2005, he was driving the evolution of Surfline’s online video content, long before they were known for anything beyond surf forecasts and cams. He helped build out their media channels from the ground up : YouTube, social media, and working on iconic projects like Wave of the Winter.

But his most groundbreaking contribution? The creation of Surfline’s Auto-Editing and Tracker technology. The innovation that became Surfline Sessions.
