PRIVATE EYE, ANDY KAY’S TALES OF CHEATING Sep 16, 2020
    Show notes

It’s rarely about moonlight and roses when a client calls private investigator, Andy Kay. He takes calls from nervous men and women asking: Is my significant other cheating? He and his six-member team ferret out the truth and bring back hard facts. Kay, whose investigations include corporate breakups and embezzlement, says that there are signs that people should look for if they feel something is not right. Watch for changing patterns. Are they traveling more? Are they less emotional? Is money missing from joint accounts? His advice: Always be aware and trust your intuition.

Kay, who helped find Michael Jackson’s missing doctor, says that people cheat for a lot of reasons. Mid-life crisis, boredom, assuming their partner won’t fulfill their sexual fantasies. How to prevent cheating? Make sure you have complete trust and keep the lines of communication wide open. Slade chimes in with “compromise. It’s one of the most important things I’ve learned to do. I put my partner’s needs before mine.”

And of course, if communications and compromise don’t work, call Andy Kay!

GRETCHEN AND SLADE: A RARE EVENING AT HOME Sep 09, 2020
    Show notes

They may be famous, but in this episode, Gretchen and Slade prove they’re just like any other couple. Slade lights the candles to set the mood and Gretchen enters the bedroom in a bright pink bathrobe and green facemask. It’s her Hulk look. They settle down to talk about what a tough couple of weeks it’s been. Slade’s oldest son, Grayson, just had a six-hour surgery for brain cancer, his 18th operation. Because of Covid-19 they’re not allowed near him. At the same time, his mom and dad both went into the hospital. Just when they were thinking that’s the worst, they lost their little girl, Sky’s, beloved nanny. Like every couple they’re worried, over-worked and searching for help. Gretchen tells Slade about the comfort she finds in the book, “Anxious for Nothing” by best selling author, Max Lucdo. He laughes, saying we never have time to talk so this is the first he’s hearing about the book. This show proves, you are not alone. Everyone has problems.

Designer Michael Costello Talks Hollywood Frocks and Diva Clients Sep 02, 2020
    Show notes

In this episode Red Carpet dress designer Michael Costello takes us from winning fourth place in Season 8 of Project Runway to designing a matching hat and dress for Cardi B and a birthday dress for Kylie Jenner. Not to mention his breakout moment - Beyoncé’s lace dress at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Gretchen asks about a turning point in his career and he says fitting Nicki Minaj in her bathroom after she called him personally. Celebs love him because he can turn around a last-minute request and he designs for all shapes and sizes. One of the first designers to make masks during Covid-19, Costello hangs out with the famous. One of his good friends is Lady Gaga. His favorite lady to design for is Mariah Carey. He’s excited to tell Gretchen and Slade that he just joined her team as a design director and is working on a swimwear line.

The naughty hosts try to get the name of his least favorite client. But he won’t go there except to say, “She’s very well known. I think it was her stylist who made the project such a pain.” Michael Costello has plenty of stories but he’s always discreet.

Former “Flip or Flop” Star Steve Cederquist’s Addiction Story: Get Out Alive Aug 26, 2020
    Show notes

This episode with Gretchen and Slade’s friend, Steve Cederquist author of Get Out Alive: Surviving and Thriving After Drugs, Guns, Gangs, Dysfunction, and Crazy, proves anyone can transform their life just as the “Flip or Flop” star contractor did. The subject is serious – cocaine addiction – but there is a happy ending. Steve got off the drugs and he says you too can overcome addiction. The cute bald contractor on three seasons of “Flip or Flop,” he writes with humor and humility about first trying cocaine at a party then going through years of hell. He dropped out of college, got involved with a gang of drug dealers, arrested numerous times, ending up losing his house and his marriage. It ended in a seedy motel room with guns drawn in a standoff with the cops.

His turning point was glimpsing his son in the schoolyard through the window of the jail bus as he was taken to court. At that moment he realized what he was losing. Steve had to serve two years but he got clean and sober and came out a changed man. He went to work as a contractor in Southern California and talked his way into a three-season gig with HDTV’s “Flip or Flop.” He eventually left the television show because he got too busy with his company, Steve Cederquist Designs. This is an episode that will give the listener an understanding of how a college kid drops out to become a drug addict and then finds redemption. Steve did “get out alive.”

Hotties Gregory and Lawrence Zarian Reveal Their Rise to Fame in Hollywood! Aug 19, 2020
    Show notes

This spicy, and sometimes raunchy episode, is a fun-filled conversation between Gretchen and Slade and their friends, identical twins, Gregory and Lawrence Zarian. Both guys share stories about their booming careers in Hollywood: Gregory, a successful model turned actor was recently nominated for an Emmy for his role on “Venice: The Series,” and has a reoccurring role on HBO’s ‘Westworld.” Lawrence is a lifestyle guru, who’s known for his work on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and Hallmark’s “Home and Family. The fast-paced conversation covers sibling rivalry (Yes, the twins still struggle, but less so than in childhood) to their 14-year sobriety, and coming out as gay. They offer a tip to parents of twins, advising them to clearly identify twins as individuals, not as “the twins.” The twins and Gretchen commiserate about the dangers of getting too involved with hurtful comments online and advise disengaging from the Internet, instead calling and talking with friends and family. Lawrence points out that trying to look like Instagram stars is equally destructive: accept who you are. If you are looking for some sage life lessons, you’ve come to the right place. This episode of KNOT TOO TABOO is chock full of wisdom and levity.
