Episode 58: With Hole For String

After a long hiatus and some serious trials and tribulations, the Knife Nuts crew are officially back in action with a live episode before Blade 2022. Levon, Dave, Brian, and Jake talk about the things they’ve missed in the last couple months, including the flurry of questionable legal threats in the knife world, what Brian has been up to, and talk about some of the unusual knives Levon has gotten his hands on recently.

Episode 57: Aerospace Canteloupe (CARBON PLATE IS A SCAM DO NOT BUY FROM CARBON PLATE)

In tonight's episode, Levon, Dave, and Brian take the time to address the situation with the run of Sharp by Design Mini Tempests and Carbon Plate's failure to deliver materials after taking $10,700 from Brian. DO NOT BUY FROM CARBON PLATE. If you know a knife maker who is considering buying from Carbon Plate, please warn them. There's still plenty of time for goofiness after addressing the elephant in the room, including the bizarre hostile takeover of Millit by Survive Knives. We also try and find some awful knife-related Christmas gifts to get the knife enthusiast in your life that you really don't like.

Episode 56: Hawkward ft. Grant & Gavin Hawk of Hawk Designs

In tonight's episode, we are joined by Grant & Gavin Hawk of Hawk Designs, the legendary father-son duo who has for two decades been at the forefront of innovation in folding knives. It has been eight(!) years since BladeHQ made their excellent documentary/shop tour about the pair (which you can view here), and a lot has changed. If you were shocked at how rustic their shop was in 2012, in 2021 it is beginning to resemble the science fiction image you might have had in your head.

We review their backstory with Grant, including some truly fantastic anecdotes about Reevus Christ himself, and then talk about the future of Hawk Design, which means full in-house production of the runaway success that is the Deadlock.

In tonight's episode, Dave mispronounces a shark, Brian buys the wrong truck, Levon buys a ticket for a convertible plane ride, and Jake is alive. We discuss Brian's Mini Tempest pre-order, the Knife Joy Slysz Bowie release and the furor surrounding it, the passing of Dr. David Darom, and of course there's some totally off topic stories thrown in. Episode 52: Four Horsemen of the Knifepocalypse ft. Metal Complex

In tonight's episode, we're joined by YouTube knife reviewer Metal Complex to go over some of the newly revealed catalogs from the biggest knife manufacturers. Predictably, there isn't a lot positive to say. We also crown the "Four Horsemen of the Knifepocalypse", the worst four knives revealed in 2021 that are the harbingers of a seemingly bad year in knives. We also bring back Wingding of the Week for the first time in a while, the dubious honor going to Asher Knives for their blatant ripoff of the Benchmade Bugout.
