In this episode, we are speaking with veterinarian Dr. Kim Boudwin, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of Providence Animal Center in Media, Pennsylvania.

We were lucky enough to speak with Dr. Boudwin all about their veterinary services, foster programs, training programs, “sleep-overs,” adoption events, and social media outreach, which I would argue has revolutionized the way PAC finds their dogs and cats homes. At the same time, they welcome the community in to find their next family member with the promise of programs geared towards the health and success of their new pet.

As many of you have heard, the current administration is dismantling and redefining the language originally created in the Endangered Species Act, or ESA.

These changes have rendered wildlife and wild spaces extremely vulnerable.

To speak with us about the impacts of this, we have invited back previous guests Tracy Wilson (Conservation Director of American Wild Horse Conservation) and Chris Servheen (Bear Biologist), a former national grizzly bear recovery coordinator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Chris and Tracy talk about the actors who are breaking down these long-held protective barriers and what we can do to help.

In this week’s episode, we speak with wolf researcher, interpreter, and award-winning author, Rick McIntyre. Wolves are one of our favorite beings to talk about and to be able to speak with Rick about them is an honor and an absolute joy.

In 1996, wolves were relocated from Canada to Yellowstone National Park and thus began the Wolf Reintroduction Project. What would follow would not only greatly impact the park and wolf conservation, but the incredible story of these wolves would travel across the world, enamoring hundreds of thousands of travelers to Yellowstone, and changing the way we see wolves and their families forever.

Rick captures the trials and tribulations of pack life, doggedly documenting the growing packs in a detailed account while witnessing them for years upon years, which ultimately resulted in the book series Alpha Wolves of Yellowstone.

It is because of the extraordinary work he did with the Wolf Project that he became known as “The Wolf Interpreter.”

We are so excited to introduce all of you to Susie Spikol, writer, naturalist, and educator. Susie has written two other books titled The Animal Adventurer’s Guide and The Book of Fairies, but in this episode we are going to be talking with Susie about her latest book Forest Magic for Kids: How to Find Fairies, Make a Secret Fort, and Cook Up an Elfin Picnic.

This is such a lovely guide for kids and parents as well for HOW they can play outside no matter where they live.

We found this book really important because I think our kids aren’t getting out enough into the natural world and experiencing that imaginative play that is so critical to shaping empathetic, curious, and responsible adults to and for this planet.

Coral Reefs | With Dr. Katie Barott, Associate Professor of Biology Jul 14, 2026

In this episode, we are speaking with Dr. Katie Barott all about coral and coral reefs!

Katie is an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania and head of the Barott Lab, where they study the ecology and physiology of coral symbiosis, researching the small-scale mechanisms in order to understand the ecosystem dynamics of coral.

In other words, Katie and her lab are interested in understanding mechanisms on a cellular and microbial level that determine coral responses to climate change. If you can understand the symbiotic relationship within this ecosystem, you can get a clearer perspective on how and why environmental events like coral bleaching are happening.

I am fascinated by symbiosis from the microbial level to the societal level of humans and animals.

They even call coral reefs cities for how they interact and operate.

Another example of how much our lives mirror many ecosystems!

Blue Whales | With Dr. Dawn Barlow, Marine Megafauna Ecologist Jun 30, 2026

In this episode, we are speaking with Dr. Dawn Barlow all about the biggest animal on the planet, the Blue Whale!

Dawn is an assistant professor and senior researcher with the Geospatial Ecology of Marine Megafauna Laboratory at the Marine Mammal Institute of Oregon State University.

Dawn’s research interests are in the ecology and conservation of pelagic predators, seabirds, and particularly cetaceans (whales, dolphins, and porpoises). She studies what drives when and where these animals can be found and how their distribution overlaps with human activities, using tools such as distribution modeling and spatial statistics, bioacoustics, and oceanography.

This is the fourth episode of our series on some of the biggest and most impactful animals or ecosystems on the planet.

And any animal that is categorised as a ‘rorqual’ is surely an animal to talk about.

And why do we call them blue whales?

Cowboy Cat Wrangler | With Bob Lynch, Community Cat Carer & Educator Jun 16, 2026

In this episode, we are speaking with Bob Lynch, or as the world knows him, the Cowboy Cat Wrangler!

Bob is a cat colony carer and TNR advocate for over 100 colony cats in the Philadelphia area. And what that means is ultimately he is rescuing, fostering, vetting, TNR advocating (trap/neuter/return) for every colony he takes care of.

He is also a huge advocate and educator about and for cat colonies. Bob is dedicating his life and livelihood to keeping cats-living outside-safe, fed, and as healthy as he can.

If you ever want to get down to the heart and soul of animal rescue, then speak with someone who is doing cat rescue and TNR work. It is not for the faint of heart.

Next time you see a cat living outside, please think of this episode. It’s a really tough life for them, and they need our care and support.
