Something dark was happening behind closed doors in New Orleans in the 1800's that no one expected. When locals started complaining to the authorities that one woman was mistreating her enslaved people, they went to take a look. But with a combination of badly enforced fines and deterrets, within a year, she was back to her old ways and sadly, even worse. But all that would change when a fire broke out at the property and revealed the truth...one which Madame LaLaurie hoped would burn ...Welcome to Killers, Cults and Queens…
Today Cheryl and Nikki explore the brutal crimes of Madame LaLaurie.

Welcome back to The Spooky Sleepover, your cosy bonus corner of Killers, Cults & Queens where Cheryl and Nikki let loose with their biggest rants and the internet’s most unhinged trends. This week, Cheryl shares her thoughts on the Met Gala theme and decides once and for all which celebrity looks were absolute hits… and which deserved to stay on the red carpet. Nikki fills us in on the Beltane festival, the 40-foot wicker man she desperately wanted to set alight, and asks the important question: what actually is Beltane?
The pair also debrief this week’s case of Barbara Mackle’s kidnapping and live burial, diving into chilling new details that didn’t make it into the main episode and discussing just how terrifying the case really was.
Diving down the rabbit hole this week, Cheryl gushes over Liza Minnelli’s autobiography and all the juicy Hollywood chaos packed into its pages, while Nikki uncovers Poland’s wild boar problem — including Shakira’s bizarre run-in with the pigs and the infamous story of her Prada purse being stolen by a boar.

Time is running out and her parents are desperately trying to get the money together to rescue her from her captors who are proving to be difficult to track down. The case garners alot of attention but it's far from over yet. Barbara needs to have her ransom paid so the family contact the president, Richard Nixon, for his help. Would they succeed, would Barbara's captors be caught and most importantly, will she survive?...Welcome to Killers, Cults and Queens…
Today Cheryl and Nikki explore arguably the world's wildest kidnapping case - it's part two of the kidnapping of Barbara Mackle.

It's time for a Spooky Sleepover and the girls have had quite the week!
Cheryl has been in cheerleader mode with Claire from STEPS and Cynthia Erivo at the London Marathon 2026 on Rainbow Row.
Nikki has found there's a fridge thief in her home who has a taste for contraband sausages.
They discuss their thoughts on this weeks case - The Black Dahlia and explore if this crime was of it's time or does it have long lasting implications?
Then, it's time for the Rabbit Holes of the week...
Nikki is settling down for a nice long sleep on her new mattress which has prompted her to look at just how much beds have evolved over the years and the answer will surprise you. She then explores some of the weirdest beds in history, one which was so famous it made it in to a Shakespeare play and another belonging to the king of rock n roll, shaped as his favourite meal!
Cheryl is being haunted by something dark that won't leave her dreams...or should that be nightmares. That demon has only one name Mr Blobby.
All that and more coming up on this weeks bonus show.
Thanks Deevs!
