KU Makes History, DP is Weak, Changes Coming to B12, FCC Should Hammer NBC/NFL, Amazon Drones in KCK, Kid Rock Goes to #1, Anti Springsteen Song Feb 10, 2026
    Show notes

We use the word "history" way too much in sports media. But Monday night was historic at Allen Field House over the most dramatic regular season three hours in years. We got a sad little whiny superstar sitting out sick, a staffer on press row texting that Darryn Peterson said, "Eff it" to playing and a wildly enthusiastic Bill Self after knocking off the number one team in the country. Oh, this made up for all the lack of fun at Super Bowl 60.

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark was at the game and says big changes are coming to the Big 12 tourney. Are they about to pay players for performance?

Bad Bunny's halftime show would NEVER have been allowed in English, that's for sure. So why doesn't the FCC go after the NFL/NBC hard for all the violations in Spanish. It could be happening.

175,000 KC residents are now eligible to get their Amazon packages delivered by drones from KCK. Americans gobbled up a record amount of been in 2025. Kid Rock hits #1 on the charts while a lesser known artist records an anti-Sprinsteen song for the ages.

The Royals do the cheapest thing ever and a small plane lands on traffic filled road in Georgia and the pilot must have been very hungry.

Rough Weekend for American Exceptionalism, Sports Get Political, KU Hosts #1, R's Fan Fave Dies, Super Bowl is Total Dud Feb 09, 2026
    Show notes

It was a rough weekend for patriotic Americans if you turned on your tv to watch the Olympics or the Super Bowl. What used to be events that showcase the excellence and pride of the greatest nation in history were anything but that this year as it seems people just want to hate the country Trump leads.

The Kansas Jayhawks phoned in a win over Utah on Saturday and now host the undefeated, #1 team in the country Monday night and we all know how this will go.

At just 34 years old, former Royal Terrence Gore passes away from complications during what was supposed to be a routine surgery. The Super Bowl was a bad game and the halftime show was even worse. It was clearly an NFL season to forget for Kansas Citians.

Super Bowl Special: Football Feast w/Stan Weber Feb 06, 2026
    Show notes

Before we tackle the big game, we ask Stan what the Chiefs can learn from watching the Seahawks and Patriots and how they got here for Super Bowl 60. His answer will surprise you, not because it's detailed and thorough. It's because it involves asking Patrick Mahomes to be different kind of quarterback as we start KC 2.0.

As you may know, Stan famously created a mathematic, interesting and fun board game decades ago that plugs in an entire season's stats so he can play teams against each other with his friends the entire off season. He's played a bunch of games between Seattle and New England and he will share his results.

As analyst for the K-State Network, Stan has been courtside for most of the really good teams in the Big 12 and he will rank them in order for us. Spoiler... KU is really climbing.

And he shares what it will take for the Missouri Tigers to make the NCAA Tourney.

Savannah Guthrie's Plea for Help, Trump Throws Full Support into Investigation, Super Bowl Key Player, Super Bowl Prop Bets Feb 04, 2026
    Show notes

NBC Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie, along with her brother and sister, recorded and released a video where they appeal to possible kidnappers that they are willing to listen about a ranson for their mom Nancy, but they need proof of life. It was one of the most real, raw, shocking and heartbreaking videos you've ever seen in your life. This story had all the markings of being historic right from the beginning and it has now captured the attention of an entire nation.

President Trump called Savannah Guthrie and told her he is throwing the full support of all federal agencies into the investigation as it appears authorities at all levels believe there is a chance Nancy is still alive. This could be so many things.

In sports, I've got one player that is more important than any other in Sunday's Super Bowl and have some some easy to understand numbers that back it up.

Then, are you ready for some silly and fun action at your watch party? Lee Sterling is here to help us out from the national anthem time to passing yards for qb's. Only the Super Bowl.

And our Final Final is a building being torn down that matters a great deal to my family.

Olathe Approves Chiefs Move, WYCO Next, Forget Tang-Fire AD, Grandpa Mahomes Arrested, Lions Fan Sues DK Metcalf, Guthrie Case New Lead, Jill's Ex Arrested for Murder Feb 04, 2026
    Show notes

The Olathe City Council approved a 165 acre area for a local STAR bond district to be the new corporate home and practice facility for the Kansas City Chiefs. This was a no-brainer for Olathe. Officials held a meeting in WYCO as well on Tuesday and will vote to approve their local area for STAR bonds on Thursday. They say it's small and only includes the new Chiefs area. We'll see how bit the state of Kansas bond district is somewhere down the road.

It's ticking me off that KSU media and fans are just now on board with what I told them three years ago... Jerome Tang is an awful basketball coach. Nothing personal, I wouldn't be any good at it either. But with an $18 million buyout, these people are focusing on the wrong man. AD Gene Taylor is the person that should be fired and they should cut off all funding to Tang and let him lose horribly for at least another year. Oh, I've got the right plan for KSU but who knows if anyone in charge is ballsy enough to pull the trigger. And all the KSU media types that have ripped me for three years over this... I accept your apology.

It wouldn't be Super Bowl week without a grandpa Mahomes alcohol arrest, a Lions fan seems to have a legitimate lawsuit against a whole bunch of people that have given him the Jussie Smollet treatment. There's a crime podcaster reporting a new break in the Nancy Guthrie mystery. Chris Cuomo comes clean on complete botching his Covid coverage and a new steakhouse is coming to KC that I'm betting is a better night out than 1587.

Guthrie Abuction Disturbing, Singer Mocked Relentlessly, Bongino Returns w/Thud, R's New TV Deal, DP and Flory Look Unbeatable, Mizzou's Big Macs, Goodell on Bad Bunny Feb 03, 2026
    Show notes

The mystery around the abduction of Nancy Guthrie from her bed while she slept sounds worse with every passing hour. NBC's Savanah Guthrie has released a statement of hope even as authorities say they found blood and signs of a struggle in the home. We don't know a motive and they haven't named a person of interest. This is awful.

A whole bunch of singers said crazy things about ICE and such at the GRAMMY Awards Sunday but one in particular stands out as the dumbest. Now she may get visitors to her house taking her up on her offer that there are no borders and nobody is illegal on any property. This could get good.

Dan Bongino returns to podcasting and made a statement that's as lame as his work at the FBI.

In sports, the Royals have a new tv deal that should work out for you. KU is rolling as Darryn Peterson drops two huge three pointers at the end of the game at Tech. But Flory was the story of this one as KU's defense is just ridiculous right now. Watch out for this team!

Mizzou has two McDonald's All Americans for the first time. Kelvin Sampson laments the current rules of transfer and NIL, Roger Goodell is asked about Bad Bunny playing halftime and former Royal Chris Getz is now GM of the White Sox and announces an interesting change he made in the plumbing of the team's locker room. It's our Final Final and you have to hear this.

Q Gets Shorted, Chiefs Naming Site, Royals Close, Kerr Forced to Apologize, Peterson Sits Healthy, Turgeon to UMKC, Epic Goalie Fight Feb 02, 2026
    Show notes

So much buildup and so little sizzle as Mayor Q is a panelist on CBS Face the Nation and I'm really disappointed. We were hoping he'd be asked about KC being the per capita homeless capital of America or his police chief declaring "drastic" measures to cutback the force because the budget is whacked. Instead, he almost got edited out completely.

The word around the cowtown is the Chiefs will be announcing the exact location of their new stadium this week... we'll tell you where the smart money is. Meanwhile, the Royals say they will be announcing their decision sooner than later where they are going.

NBA coach Steve Kerr has been forced to apologize for his outrageous lies about the Trump administration and ICE. It was real. But another coach won't back off and is worried ICE will start kidnapping international players and sending them home. What a fool.

KU star Darryn Peterson sits again after KU built a huge lead over BYU. He's healthy for tonight's game so maybe this was something else. I have a new theory.

Mark Turgeon is the new basketball coach at Kansas City (UMKC) and this is a great hire. Goalies throw down at center ice and one of the world's most famous musicians makes a video in the middle of the Tallgrass Prairie reserve in the Flint Hills.

Conservative Media Owner Shakes up Missouri Politics Jan 30, 2026
    Show notes

What if I told you there's a conservative broadcaster that owns his own media company and is seen as a controversial outsider by members of old school, liberal media and politicians? What if he was the kind of plain spoken truth teller unafraid of what anyone thinks?

If we aren't talking about your humble host, you'd probably think this would be a really great person to have on KKHI.

Meet Scott Faughn, publisher of www.themissouritimes.com. He just purchased three more newspapers in Missouri and has his finger on the pulse of everything going on in the Show-Me state. He knows the governor well. And yes, he's a Cardinals fan. You may even hear us spar over the 1985 World Series a smidge. But we also talk about no income tax, the state of life in KC vs. St. Louis and Trump's tariffs upsetting Missouri farmers. You're going to enjoy this one

New Pretti Video Tells All, Minn Emboldened, Springsteen's Career Killer, Mayor Q Now a Listener, Vahe was No Vote for Belichick, Minshew Mystery, Flexcaves Come to KC Jan 29, 2026
    Show notes

A new video of left wing agitator Alex Pretti was released by the BBC and it shows Pretti spitting at federal agents, screaming eff you's, flipping the bird and kicking out the tail lights of their car. Peaceful protest indeed. Pretti, carrying a gun, was taken to the ground and according to CNN suffered a broken rib. Amazingly, the didn't see the gun and let him go. Agents drove away. It's no wonder these thugs think they can get away with anything.

Bruce Springsteen has a new song for the people of Minneapolis and my inbox is filling up with listeners that are deleting him from the playlists.

Mayor Q says on radio that he was listening to our reporting about the Royals on Tuesday and I"m actually very happy for him. If a mayor found a way to get baseball downtown without a public vote, he deserves a statue at the new park.

Vahe Gregorian of the KC Star pens a piece on why he didn't vote for Bill Belichick for the Hall of Fame, the very first person to admit it. When you hear his reason, you will understand just how different liberals and conservatives are in the way they think.

Adam Schefter reports Gardner Minshew is 100% healthy and never did blow out his ACL. That means something bad was going on with the Chiefs, or their doctors.

And gentlemen, we're about to share something with you that isn't available anywhere but KC. Its a new concept called www.flexcaves.com and its a place for business, storing a car or boat or having your weekly poker game and smoking cigars in a condo-like storage unit. They break ground this year in Martin City and Brett Johnson is here to explain why he thinks his ideas will be a huge hit.

Royals Get Last Laugh, OP Location Dumped, Pretti Had History, Local Cops Work for Ilhan, Belichick All Time Snub, Chiefs Architects Named, Peterson Back for KU, Wife Knows Best Jan 28, 2026
    Show notes

What if the Royals played everyone here and were actually the smartest, most brilliant business tacticians in all of this Kansas City stadium drama? It's either that or they are the luckiest outfit ever. We'll let you decide but there's no denying 5 years ago the Royals said they were getting a new stadium and they wanted it downtown. When that failed at every turn, did they use Overland Park and Kansas officials for leverage to get what they wanted? Did they let the Chiefs move first, something they know doubt knew was in the works, to let the freak out happen? It's possible. If not... wow were they lucky.

Hey, turns out Alex Pretti was known to the feds as a problem... we have some details. Also in Minneapolis, an agitator confronts Ilhan Omar and, get this, the Minneapolis local police arrest the guy. Go figure.

Bill Belichick fails to get the vote to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame and it shows just how absurd and petty the committee members are. The Chiefs name two local architecture firms working to design their new stadium. I don't think it's a competition. Darryn Peterson is ready to rock Saturday against BYU and their star freshman AJ Dybansta. K-State has a buyout problem with Jerome Tang, Mizzou gets drilled at Alabama.

A billionaire is paying our Olympic athletes and a man in New Jersey is ordered by his wife to return expensive orange juice to the store and it turns out your wife always knows best. You have to hear this Final Final.
