Show notes
Matt Verderame and Tucker Franklin are BACK for a special Memorial Day edition of That Football Show! After surviving a chaotic house move and wisdom teeth surgery recovery, the guys dive straight into the absolute emergency situation brewing in the Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver room.
Rashee Rice is officially heading to the clink for 30 days following a probation violation, right on the heels of a sudden cleanup knee surgery. The guys don't hold back on Rice's pattern of terrible decision-making and what rehabbing a knee in jail means for his availability. With Rice sidelined, the Chiefs' wide receiver room is looking dangerously thin—leaving Patrick Mahomes with a group of unproven rookies and depth pieces.
Is it time to pull off a blockbuster trade? Matt and Tucker make the hard case for why Brett Veach needs to pick up the phone right now and call the Philadelphia Eagles for AJ Brown. They break down the financial blueprint, the draft pick cost, and react to Albert Breer’s frustrating report that the Chiefs previously passed on the star wideout. Plus, they look at other veteran fallback options like Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Deebo Samuel to give Mahomes weapons he deserves.
