Y'all Ready for this? | An Indie Gaming Show - Ep. 73 (Reupload) Feb 13, 2021

Show notes

Join Karrington, Cody, Donovan and Jordan in the next episode of Real Dudes Podcast - An Indie Gaming Show. Today they review the game "Frog Fractions" and "Project Wingman". Do these game take flight and deliver to their audiences? Or do they even come close to leaping into our hearts? After some news we got a question from a listener, Dorian Childs! With the recent events of Cyberpunk 2077, when was the last time a game had a ton of hype and actually delivered? Oh yea the caveat is that it can NOT be a Nintendo game. What did the crew find and suggest?

RDP Interviews: Tobias Fossheim Feb 12, 2021

Show notes

Today Karrington is able to speak with Tobias from Krillbite Studios. Tobias came to talk about their new project "Sunlight".

Sunlight is a short, vibrant and thought captivating exploration game. Journey into the uncharted forest, guided by the harmonised whispers of the trees. Each tree with different voices, genders and dialects, speaking as one. Taking artistic inspiration from expressionist painters like Monet and Munch and focusing on a powerful 3D audio experience with breath-taking choir work, Sunlight will leave you feeling entranced and in wonder in this artistic approach to telling you a story. Playtime: 30 minutes.

Krillbite Studio is an independent game developer creating unique and innovative game experiences. The company was founded in 2011 by graduate students who went on to develop and publish the critically acclaimed horror title Among the Sleep in 2014, a game that has since been ported to Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Our most recent game is called Mosaic, and is a story about our modern society and lifestyle. We are constantly exploring the interactive space with new ideas and concepts.

Real Reviews: Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge Review Nov 23, 2020

Show notes

Karrington and Donovan get together to discuss the latest VR game "Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge" on Oculus Quest. We know it is not exactly on brand but something struck Donovan about this game he just HAD to discuss it. Since this is a VR game, how is that experience? People are comparing it to "Half Life: Alyx", does it live up to those standards? Is it better than "Vadar Immortal"? Listen in and find out!

Real Reviews: Summerland Review Nov 20, 2020

Show notes

(UPDATE: Conner has assured me that a hint system will be implemented shortly and should be ready for release. Since I played an early build this feature was not yet live)

This is Fyre Games’ Conner Rush 3rd commercial game. After showing great promise in the last game RDP played, “Welcome to the Dreamscape”, I was really interested in seeing what Connor could do. “Summerland” goes in a very interesting direction with its story and direction. A game about a decorated cop who may or may not have done some bad things. Whether he does or doesn't that is up to not just as a player but as a person. The main character Matthew has to make some tough decisions. It really begs the question if you were in a similar position could you live with your decisions?
