Federal judges and the federal courts are clearly getting fed up with the Trump Administration's continued abusive conduct in relation to its immigration enforcement practices.

A federal judge in Chicago, Judge Sara Ellis, just ordered the Border Patrol commander-at-large Gregory Bovino to appear in her courtroom DAILY for the next week, after he was caught on video casually lobbing a tear gas canister into a crowd of protestors that posed no imminent threat to officers.

But even more important than today's ruling, was the fact that Judge Ellis citied as evidence videos that had been sent to her by members of the public documenting abusive acts by federal officers. This is an important reminder of the power the people have to record, document, and turn over to the authorities, including the courts, these powerful images.

Appeals Court Temporarily Stops Trump from Sending Troops into Portland Oct 28, 2025

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has put a temporary pause on Donald Trump's ability to send National Guard troops into the streets of Portland, Oregon. The court issued the stay or pause while it decides if the full appeals court (sitting en banc) will review a lower court ruling allowing Trump to militarize the streets of Portland.

The incessant back and forth between and among the trial courts, the appeals courts, and the Supreme Court - is enough to make folks throw up their hands at the complete injustice of it all.

Glenn discusses how the endless legal back and forth regarding Trump's abuse of presidential power and his determination to weaponize the streets of America is beginning to feel like the highest stakes and most dangerous game of tennis imaginable.

With a NOT GUILTY Finding, Jury Delivers a Verdict on the Overreach by Trump's DOJ! Oct 22, 2025

Donald Trump's US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, failed to convince three grand juries to bring felony charges against a woman named Sydney Lori Reid for allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer during immigration enforcement operations. Undeterred by the grand jury's repeated rejection of criminal charges, Pirro directed her prosecutors to charge Ms. Reid with a misdemeanor crime.

In a direct repudiation of Pirro's prosecutorial overreach, a jury - sitting as the conscience of the community, - has found Ms. Reid NOT GUILTY!

This result reinforces that, whether it's 23 people in a private grand jury room, 12 people in a jury box in a public courtroom, or seven million people in the streets of American protesting against Trump's tyranny, IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE POWER!

Federal Appeals Court Tells Trump He Can't Deploy Troops to Chicago Oct 21, 2025

A unanimous three-judge appeals court panel has ruled that Trump cannot deploy troops to the streets of Chicago. The judges on the panel were appointed by George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

The judges' pointedly schooled Trump and his administration by stating: "Political opposition is not rebellion".

The American people came out in record numbers to stand up, speak out, and peacefully protest against Donald Trump's attempt to convert American democracy into a dictatorship.

Glenn had the honor and privilege to address the more than 5000 democracy warriors that attended the No Kings rally in Leesburg, Virginia. Importantly, in Leesburg, the second No Kings rally drew twice as many attendees as the first.
