The Dream Team celebrates 25 years and RAGBRAI has proclaimed Tuesday of RAGBRAI to be Dream Team Day! On the show to talk more about the Dream Team is executive director Brian O’Leary along with Marissa, a high school student who has participated in the Dream Team for several years. The Dream Team is a five month program that partners youth with adult mentors to provide a unique opportunity to build relationships, achieve personal growth, and learn life skills. The program culminates with completing RAGBRAI and the emotional experience of riding from the Missouri to the Mississippi River. This is a non-profit organization based out of Des Moines, Iowa. And to celebrate their anniversary, The Dream Team is inviting all of us riders to participate in a cool scavenger hunt so listen in for details. Details can be found at dreamteamdesmoines.org/hunt. If you are riding RAGBRAI this year, and you like caffeine, you will definitely want to hear this episode! It is all about the coffee shops you will find on the RAGBRAI route. These locally owned businesses have been working hard to find the perfect mix of hot and cold beverages along with quick and delicious food options for riders who take the time to stop by. They are all extending their hours so they will be ready for the early birds who NEED their coffee! Thanks to these great coffee shops: Hawks Coffee Shop in Sergeant Bluffs Aspen Leaf Coffee Co in Pocahontas The Feed Mill in Algona Euphoria Coffee in West Union Have a topic for a future episode? A few weeks ago Murph was in Colorado as part of the Ride the Rockies crew. Ride the Rockies is a 6 day Colorado bicycle tour that started way back in the mid eighties. This year riders tackled 8 mountain passes on their bicycles, almost 30,000 feet of elevation gain and not one but two days of over 100 miles of pedaling. I caught up with Jason Carolan from Flexential to get a recap on his week of biking in Colorado. Flexential has been supporting the ride for 8 years, and Jason is on to tell us about his company as well as his week on the bike. Have a topic for a future episode?
