In this episode, we continue the discussion about education and focus more on nurse practitioner education. We discuss experience prior to starting NP school and some of the shift to a large number of NP students. We also discuss social media and crowd sourcing a diagnosis as well as getting out of the mindset of "Us vs. Them" in regards to physicians. We thank Jeff for his opinions and continuing our discussion on these matters.

In this episode, the guys welcome Jeff back to the show and get deep into the discussion of one of our most talked about episodes, the education episodes. The guys and Jeff talk about changes they would make to both ADN programs and BSN programs and that is met with quite an intense conversation from all parties involved. We also explore if workplace violence, lateral violence, and nurse bullying and hazing should be incorporated into the common curriculum of nursing schools. They guys also opine about testing in nursing school and teaching to pass boards versus teaching to take care of patients.

DOT Medical Exams Jan 19, 2020

In this episode, the guys look in-depth at the DOT Medical Examiner role including the training, testing, certification, and eventually the medical exams that are provided to over 6,000,000 commercial drivers in the US. They discuss some important perils to remember for the test and have converse about the forms used specifically. Ben is a certified DOT examiner and Tom is hoping to be soon so there were some good questions along the way.

Holiday Myths Dec 08, 2019

Breast Cancer Awareness Oct 27, 2019

In Episode 53, Tom & Ben welcome Lana to the show. Lana is a nurse practitioner with a story to tell. Despite doing everything right and getting her mammograms and exams done, she developed breast cancer. Hear her story in her own words as she going from being a statistic to a fighter to a survivor. We talk about her diagnosis, treatment, and the saddening realizations in the aftermath that she's overcoming.

In our "Story You May Have Missed" we talk about finding cancer at an unlikely place, a tourist attraction.

We hope this episode inspires men and women to look for the signs and take the actions if something is discovered.
