Today's Episode Season 2 Episode 2 Coping with Unanswered Prayer: Jesus Hurt my Feelings...

This is just one of the blog posts I will be doing a sound recording of and I think it is an important one.

We are all faced with the test of choosing to believe when we haven't been heard the way we hoped.

Today's Scripture is: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. John 3:16-18

Today's podcast is called Overcoming the Holiday Blues… Debunk Your BaaaHumbug. Let me start by saying, I am soooo sorry that it took me so long between seasons. We have been sick and after recording this episode, the first time, it disappeared… so now here we go with take two!

Got a case of bah humbug?

I have good news. Jesus overcame the world. And he knew bah humbug would be a thing before Dickens ever picked up a pen.

Here is today's scripture:For unto us a Child is born, Unto us, a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be calledWonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Which is from Isaiah 9:6

I want to mention my friend Nikki Hardy who recently invited me to a panel discussion on her blog. I think you will really enjoy it. You can find it here. And you can learn all about the other panelists, here also...

Falling into the Arms of the REAL Jesus Nov 06, 2018

Listen in because we have a BIG Giveaway at the end of this show! This is the last day to enter! This giveaway ends today at November 6th, 2018 at midnight, central time!

I would like to propose that in order to fall into the arms of a good and loving God we must first understand that He is a perfect parent.

    He loves unconditionally.

He blesses even when I am less than obedient. Even when I call someone a dummy or fight with a sibling. He doesn't turn from me in my humanness, He runs toward me ready to protect, correct, and redirect.

This is imperative. We cannot begin to know the depths of this God as long as we believe His love is conditional. We cannot fall into the arms and trust and believe if we surrender to the false understanding that we could be pushed out of His lap and onto the floor every time we make a mistake or stumble.

If this were true of Him, why would He have bothered with the cross?

This too is paramount. The gravity of the cross was a glimpse of the greatest lengths He would go to, to be with us, His darlings.

He wanted to be with us so desperately, He made the ultimate sacrifice. He chose to let His son be destroyed, so we could be sons and daughters.

Todays scripture is: The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

    Failure.

It comes in all shapes and sizes. And it always sets me back.

Failure can be colossal, like being fired from a job… or less tragic, like botching a good diet day by eating a bag of candy corn.

As a mom, I can say my kids struggles used to be something I counted among my failures too. Womanhood as a whole is laced with societal and self-perceived failures. Marriages fall apart, friendships end, and careers fizzle...

    Today's scripture:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Today we are talking all things Road Weary: Hoping when you can barely put pants on…

I call it road weary. You may call it something else. But it is basically the long and treacherous road of a specific struggle.

Marital, parenting, financial, religious, physical as with chronic pain or illness, or anything you find yourself going through. And I am sure you know that feeling, I can't do it anymore. Actually, my husband and I are in a long hard season. And I have a couple friends that are in impossible situations, the finish line isn't even in their line of vision.

Prayer, which is often to referred to as the last option or resource actually pales to the comparison of what I can accomplish on my own. However, it is our best bet....

Today we are talking all things, Bloom Where You are Planted

Many of us can find ourselves in a weird place. Socially, religiously, in our marriage or motherhood… life can smell like armpit… I know. It is in these places that I can look back and see the truth about God's design on my life and the perfect way He has allowed me to bloom in the ugliest conditions!

    Our scripture reference today is:

"Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." John 8:12 (NASB)

Today we are talking all things, My Kid Doesn't Believe...

We pour into these babies and then they betray our hard work and grow up and do their own thing and it is hard, sad, and scary. I know.

As mommas we just want them to believe... things are so much easier in the arms of Jesus.

But I am going to offer you a word of encouragement. As someone who has been there, and someone who is right here with you.

    Our scripture reference today is:

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
