The gift of wisdom that Solomon got resulted in the people he led living in safety. How are we using our gifts? Not in a way to build up ourselves, but in a way to point others to knowing something “greater”, which is the gospel of Jesus. Today, Emma Dotter and today’s devotion writer, Kristen Baker (aka KB) unpack how Solomon’s wise decision to ask for wisdom is something we can do today.
Additional Scriptures used in this podcast:
Matthew 5:13-16, “Salt of the earth”
Hebrews 4:16, “Approach the throne of grace with confidence…”
Micah 4:4 & Zechariah 3:10, “Sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree…”

Through Emma Dotter’s own personal story from high school, we see the power of Solomon’s request for wisdom. Solomon’s stunning humility in asking for wisdom resulted in life change for not only himself, but also for other people. By reminding God of his own past acts, believers have a pledge of him to come through on present needs.
James 1:2-8, “If any of you lacks wisdom.”
