Alan Dershowitz: SCOTUS ‘would almost certainly reverse the conviction’ in Trump trial May 31, 2024
    Show notes

Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz slammed Democrats over the Trump hush money trial, saying New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg “made up a crime out of whole cloth” to bring a case against former President Donald Trump. He cautioned that “the real loser is the American public” because of the precedent set by this case, and predicted that the judge would sentence Trump to time in prison, but would suspend the sentence instead of actually sending the former president to jail. Dershowitz also gave his perspective on Trump’s chances on appeal, saying the Supreme Court would probably not get the case until after the 2024 election, but they would most likely reverse the conviction.

Kash Patel: Democrats ‘want the immediate headline’ on Trump trial May 30, 2024
    Show notes

Speaking just hours before former President Trump was found guilty in the New York hush money trial, former federal prosecutor Kash Patel slammed Democrats for their handling of the trial. “They know they’re gonna lose an appeal,” Patel said, “but appeal is two years away and the election is four months away.” He further called the trial a “distraction” from the Biden family’s own legal woes. Patel also slammed FBI leadership for turning it into “an abysmal law enforcement agency,” but expressed optimism that the bureau could be fixed.

Mike Davis: jury instructions in Trump hush money trial ‘clearly unconstitutional’ May 29, 2024
    Show notes

Article III Project Founder Mike Davis slammed Judge Juan Merchan over his instructions to the jury in the Trump hush money trial, saying “that’s the normal thing for a judge to do if you’re a judge in a third world Marxist hellhole.” He also predicted that the jury will convict Trump, but it will be overturned on appeal. He described the case as “a criminal conspiracy” between prosecutors and the judge “to clearly violate Trump’s civil rights.”

Florida Rep. Steube calls for criminal referral against Hunter Biden May 28, 2024
    Show notes

Florida GOP Rep. Greg Steube says there “absolutely” needs to be a criminal referral against Hunter Biden following allegations that he lied to Congress. He also weighed in on Michael Cohen’s testimony at the Trump hush money trial, calling Cohen a “serial liar, a convicted liar, who will say whatever people want him to say, to try to go after President Trump.” He slammed Democrats on illegal immigration, saying “this is 100% a political calculation by this administration. If these were Trump voters lining up at the border…they would shut down the border tomorrow.”

Tennessee Rep. Burchett slams bipartisan Senate border bill, State Department, ICC May 26, 2024
    Show notes

Tennessee GOP Rep. Tim Burchett had strong words for the bipartisan border bill in the Senate, calling it “bogus” and “as dangerous as a caulk gun.” He argued Democrats support open borders so they will get “more representation” in areas where illegal immigrants vote. He also criticized the State Department for offering condolences on the death of the Iranian president and the International Criminal Court for its warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Ron Johnson: ‘it doesn’t surprise me to see more evidence’ against Biden family May 25, 2024
    Show notes

Wisconsin GOP Sen. Ron Johnson reacted to new FBI documents showing that the federal government knew for years that then-Vice President Joe Biden met with Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners on an official trip. “I was always suspicious that the FBI, the Department of Justice had walled Hunter Biden off” of a fraud prosecution, Johnson recalled. He also broke down the issues with the proposed Senate border bill, saying “this bill is worse than doing nothing.” He further praised Florida Sen. Rick Scott in his bid for party leadership as having “a more businesslike approach, a more functional approach, a more collaborative approach.”

Lawyer representing man killed by ATF says raid might have occurred to support new Biden regulation May 24, 2024
    Show notes

Arkansas Attorney General Bud Cummins, who is representing the family of airport administrator Bryan Malinowski, who was fatally shot in an ATF raid, suggested the agency’s raid may have been conducted to support a new regulation by the Biden administration. “As bad as that story I just told is,” he explained, “it’s even worse if it’s politically motivated.” He also raised concerns about the militarization of law enforcement, especially in situations where they have time to plan. “They had 1,000 options that would be safer than what they did,” he said. “They created this situation,” he added.

Tristan Leavitt slams Hunter Biden testimony: ‘clear that Congress was being misled’ May 23, 2024
    Show notes

Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt reacted to the release of new whistleblower documents contradicting Hunter Biden’s congressional testimony, calling his claims “laughable.” He agreed the release could lead to a criminal referral, saying “if people are allowed to lie to Congress and get away with it, that has real bad ramifications for the legislative branch.” However, he added that “I would not be surprised…if his dad pardons him” if Hunter were convicted of a crime. He also provided updates on whistleblower efforts more generally, including efforts to encourage whistleblowers despite attempts at retaliation.
