Legal Analysis of SCOTUS Elections Clause Case Jun 28, 2023
    Show notes

The U.S. Supreme Court issued an opinion yesterday in Moore v. Harper, a highly anticipated opinion dealing with the Elections Clause in Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution. Former U.S. Representative John Hostettler joins Jenna to discuss this opinion and its possible impact on future elections, and a wider discussion of a runaway judiciary that is power-grabbing. We now live in a Juristocricy instead of a Constitutional Republic if we cede that the federal judiciary can simply claim power and issue opinions to pursue outcomes it decides it wants to. So how do we understand this as originalists and what can we do about it?

Legislating Morality: When Culture is Depraved, What is Government’s Role? Jun 27, 2023
    Show notes

Over the weekend, we saw despicable conduct from “Pride Parades,” including men fully naked riding around on bikes in front of children. The secular marxists want purposefully to normalize this behavior and suggest that “freedom” means there is nothing the government can do to protect children. After all, conservatives want to keep parental rights, right? Allen Mashburn, father, pastor, homeschool parent, and candidate for Lt. Governor in North Carolina, joins to discuss why Christians MUST engage legislatively to protect children.

Coup in Russia?! What’s going on and where the war goes from here Jun 26, 2023
    Show notes

Over the weekend, reports evidenced a coup attempt to overthrow the Putin Regime in Russia from the Wagner Group. What do we know and what impact will this have on the Russia-Ukraine conflict? Zachary Yost of the Mises Institute joins Jenna to discuss and also to analyze the United States’ role in this. Do we have an articulable interest? Should we be funding this conflict? Has Congress even contemplated whether this is a just war or becoming the aggressor? Is it even possible to stop our funding in 24 hours as President Trump has committed to on the campaign trail? Great discussion with Zach and Jenna!

Exploration and Tourism Ethics and the OceanGate Submersible Jun 22, 2023
    Show notes

The story of the disappearance of the Titan Submersible and its crew has captured the attention of the world and the U.S. Coast Guard has just announced pieces of debris have been found. Will we ever know what happened? And what questions should we be asking now in ethics, law, policy, and regulations for dangerous tourism? Ray Alexander, former US Navy submariner, sonar technician, and logistician, joins to discuss the potential circumstances surrounding the Titan tragedy, the latest in the recovery efforts, and importantly, the shared values and tradition of mariners. Ray draws an important distinction between exploration and tourism, and discusses with Jenna the ethics questions around deep sea tourism.

LET THEM DEBATE: DeSantis v. Newsom Jun 21, 2023
    Show notes

Josh and Jenna go round 2 on the primary discussion and advice for Gov. Ron DeSantis in his quest to become the GOP nominee. (If you missed round 1, find it on the highly rated episode of “The Josh Hammer Show” on Newsweek.)

This time, Josh and Jenna focus on the progress of DeSantis’s campaign and the attacks from Trump’s camp to dominate the PR war. DeSantis isn’t doing any opposition media, a tactic that worked in his statewide campaign, but should he go into the dens of propaganda that are CNN and MSNBC? And critically, Gov. Gavin Newsom, highly speculated to announce a presidential campaign soon, has challenged Gov. DeSantis to a debate. Would America benefit from this? Would DeSantis? We discuss!

Legal Analysis: Hunter Biden’s Sweetheart Deal Jun 20, 2023
    Show notes

The DOJ announced today it reached an agreement with Hunter Biden that will allow him to avoid jail time and serves as a mere fig leaf of accountability. Under the terms of the agreement, the DOJ said Hunter Biden will plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of failing to pay federal income taxes and got pretrial diversion for a firearms violation. The timing of this is incredibly suspicious as a judge sets Donald Trump’s trial date on his indictment. Former US Attorney Brett Tolman joins to explain what this all means and how DOJ may be playing favorites.

Don’t Drink the Tap Water! Jun 19, 2023
    Show notes

Remember Alex Jones’ conspiracy theory saying that the chemicals in water were “turning the frogs gay”? Now, 8 years later, reports are suggesting he’s right. What is actually in our water and how is it harming us? RFK Jr. is causing the leftist elitists a major headache by asking questions on prominent podcasts like Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson. Is the rise of transgenderism and queerness, especially among young adolescent boys, being caused in part to estrogen hormones in the water? Why can’t we ask these questions? Why isn’t Congress? Raw Egg Nationalist joins to discuss.

The Strategy to Fight the Woke Left’s Assault on the West Jun 14, 2023
    Show notes

Victor Davis Hanson, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and scholar, explains why the West is falling and why Republicans at large aren’t really interested in winning. Within obviously moral and legal guardrails, the conservative Right has to also be focused on outcomes.

This paradigm shift into recognizing why Western Civilization is imperiled and why the system as the Right has generally accessed it is insufficient to fully address weaponized process and therefore weaponized outcomes explains why we haven’t been winning. This shift in using the process for outcomes not just precedent is now undergirding why Florida has been so successful for conservatism.

Hanson describes how process and precedent is not to be preferred above or instead of specific outcomes. This isn’t exclusionary, but when in conflict, we cannot default sacrifice specific outcomes for general precedent, which has been the modus operandi for conservatism as a movement in law and policy.

Hanson illustrates how the movement to dismantle the values of American democracy began in the late 1960s during the sexual revolution. As our nation became more secularized, institutions like churches and schools, which used to be unifying forces, lost their significance. As a result, the decline of family and religious identity has also led to a decline in national unity.

The LGBTQ Divorce Jun 13, 2023
    Show notes

The LGB is splitting from the TQ+, and conservatives are finding allies against the leftist transgender movement. In a fascinating discussion, Mary Fay, a Republican office holder in Connecticut and open lesbian, describes how most of the LGB community is opposed to transgenderism and especially what the left is doing to children. In the original battle for equality, Mary says that all she wanted was to live her life like a traditional family, and adding all the TQ+ and current flag does not represent the views of the LGB. Like feminists who want to protect women’s sports, LGB want to protect equal rights from the transgender movement.

In-depth Legal Analysis of Second Trump Indictment Jun 12, 2023
    Show notes

Here’s everything you need to know about what we know so far about the second Trump indictment regarding the classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. What are the 37 counts? Is this substantive? What are the likely defenses? The mainstream media is presenting mostly a very narrow political perspective that depends entirely on whether a listener loves or hates Donald Trump. While we cannot (and shouldn’t) ignore the overt political background of all of this, we also cannot responsibly discuss the indictment without delving into the legal. Michael Melito, criminal defense attorney and former Assistant Attorney General in Colorado, joins Jenna to break it all down!
