If you missed the first one, search "Gladius Off-Road Crafting Unique Jeep Emblems" right here on the channel! In this chat, Ryan dives deep into his Mopar-licensed, USA-made custom emblems for Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator β€” over 150 designs in hundreds of colors! We cover everything from layered 3D acrylic badges (with that awesome shadow effect and detail), retro styles, motor emblems (like 392 HEMI), club patches, and even custom engraving/topography options coming soon. Big updates since last time: - New Doors-Off Mirror Bracket: Billet aluminum, RAM ball mount compatible (use cheap ATV/motorcycle mirrors ~$27), fully adjustable, no vibration, doubles as a GoPro/light mount when doors are on! - Tailgate prop brackets (the unbreakable billet upgrade) - Plans for a revamped Shopify site with dealer connections (like Underground Graphics), more off-road gear from small makers, install tools, and a mini-marketplace vibe. Ryan shares the origin story (the name comes from the Roman gladiator sword β€” he admits he kinda hates it now πŸ˜‚), why everything's made-to-order (most orders ship next day!), custom design process (vectors preferred!), hat patches with multi-layer acrylic logos, quick lead times, and future ideas like engraved flags, more motor badges (4.0, stroker builds), and maybe even Gladiator gas cap covers. The 4xe Experiment Ends: What Comes Next? Jan 15, 2026
    Show notes

Join Tony and April on the **Jeep Talk Show** flagship episode for a casual, fun catch-up chat after a three-week break! In this laid-back discussion, they dive into hot Jeep topics, share personal takes, and keep the laughs rolling. Key highlights include: - **Jeep's discontinuation of the 4xe plug-in hybrid models** (Wrangler and Grand Cherokee) for 2026 – why it doesn't bother April (old-school simplicity wins), range anxiety fears, charging challenges in rural areas, and how PHEVs sometimes traded capability for electrification quirks. - **Mud Terrain (MT) tires vs. lockers** – which upgrade to prioritize first? They agree: go tires first for better overall traction (rocks, mud, emergencies), then add lockers. April shares her approach of testing without lockers first to learn the Jeep's limits and reduce drivetrain stress. - **Ham radio vs. GMRS for emergency/off-road comms** – Tony questions if ham is phasing out with modern tech (satellites, internet), but April champions GMRS (easy, no test, family license, Midland's Jeep-friendly setups like the MXT series with integrated mics for tight dashes). Great for trails where cell service fails! - **Wrangler 392 pricing gripes** – recent price drops (like the 2026 Moab 392 coming in ~$20K cheaper), the thrill of that Hemi V8 roar, and why it's worth the premium (plus jealousy over friends' new ones). - **Off-road pet peeves** from the round table fireside chat crew: dropdown steps on rock sliders, loud concert-level speakers blasting music on trails, rear dual-exit exhausts getting mangled, oversized wheels, hitch sliders, and trail judgment. - Bonus: Tony plugs his new interview-focused show **Tony Muckleroy** (check it out on YouTube/Spotify for paranormal chats, preppers, and more wide-ranging topics). If you're a Jeep owner, off-roader, or just love the community vibe, this episode is full of relatable rants, practical advice, and good-natured banter. Living in a Trailer, Selling Volvos in High School, Now Running Combat Off-Road Jan 09, 2026
    Show notes

In this **Jeep Talk Show** interview episode, host Tony sits down with Ryan, the passionate founder of **Combat Off-Road**, for an inspiring deep dive into his lifelong love for building, fixing, and flipping vehiclesβ€”from living in a tent and trailer behind his parents' garden center as a teen, selling hundreds of Volvos in high school, to running multiple off-road shops, and now creating top-tier aftermarket parts for the Jeep community. @Combat.Offroad Ryan shares wild stories from his early days (including custom sidecars, crazy customer requests, and building cars while playing college hockey), his transition from shop owner to manufacturer, and why he launched Combat Off-Road as a true enthusiast project focused on **durability, quality, and lifetime warranties**. Highlights include: - Why Combat Off-Road uses **stamped aluminum** (not plastic) for armored tail lights that can take a beating off-road - The modular design that lets you replace individual lenses easily - Popular billet hood latches, tube doors for that open-air feel with extra protection, aluminum fenders, and more - Ryan's take on EVs, keeping the ICE culture alive, open trails, and passing the gearhead passion to the next generation (including his 10-year-old daughter who already drives and knows her cars!) If you're into real off-road builds, self-reliance, or just love hearing how passion turns into a business, this conversation is packed with motivation, laughs, and practical insights. 4xe DISCONTINUED + MT Tires vs Lockers: Which Mod First? + 392 Rant Jan 06, 2026
    Show notes

Welcome to Episode 1407 of the Jeep Talk Show β€” now in our 16th year of unfiltered Jeep talk, trail tips, mod advice, and real community vibes!

    In This Episode

Tony breaks down the shocking news rocking the Jeep world: Stellantis has discontinued the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) 4xe models in North America starting with the 2026 model year. The Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe have quietly vanished from Jeep's build configurator β€” no press release, no fanfare.

    We dig into the reasons:

    • Ongoing recalls (battery fires, power issues, stop-sales)
    • Shifting demand with lower gas prices
    • End of big EV incentives
    • Why simpler gas or mild-hybrid setups may make more sense for real off-roaders

Current 4xe owners β€” don't panic. Get your recalls handled. Jeep should continue supporting parts for years. Is this a smart pivot away from problematic tech, or a step back from "green"? We discuss the pros, cons, and what it means for the future of electrified Jeeps.

Classic Budget Mod Debate: Mud-Terrain Tires First, or Lockers?

Tires are the foundation β€” they touch the ground and deliver instant gains in mud, loose dirt, rocks, and that aggressive stance. Lockers shine in extreme rock crawling when wheels lift, but on a budget many Jeepers start with MTs for better "two-tire grip" across the axle instead of four tires spinning. Real-world thoughts on why MTs often win for everyday wheeling, and when lockers become essential. What's your pick? Drop it in the comments.

    Wrangler 392 Pricing Rant

Why are these V8 beasts still priced so high (even after recent drops like the new Moab 392 specials coming in ~$20k cheaper than prior Rubicons)? With gas prices down and that Hemi torque and sound still loved, Jeep could move a lot more units by making them more accessible β€” closer to a loaded 3.6 Rubicon premium. Come on, Jeep β€” keep the go-anywhere spirit alive without luxury pricing!

Communications Corner: Is Ham Radio Obsolete?

With GMRS, cell phones, and Starlink, is ham radio still relevant for emergencies? We explore why ham still rules as a resilient backup (no grid or internet needed, global reach in disasters like hurricanes or EMP scenarios). GMRS is great for easy trail chats, but a layered plan is best β€” test your gear, know your repeater backups, and stay ready. 73 to the hams out there!

    Bonus Announcement

Tony launches his new interview show β€” The Tony Muckleroy Show β€” on YouTube and Spotify. Wide-ranging conversations on anything interesting, starting with a personal talk on paranormal experiences with his daughter. Check it out for ghosts, stories, and random deep dives!

We open on a somber note with the recent discovery of a crashed 2005 red Jeep Wrangler off Highway 6 in Oregon's Tillamook area. Loggers/ODF personnel found the vehicle (linked to a September 2025 missing persons case out of Beaverton) along with skeletal remains believed to be those of Eddie Hair (Hare) and Scott Smith, both in their late 60s. Official identification is pending (dental records/personal effects), but the registration and circumstances point strongly to the two men who never returned from an outdoor/wheeling trip. We discuss the tragic accident angle, the "red Jeep curse" running joke since 2020, and some classic banter about James Dean and why red Jeeps seem to stick in people's memories.

Then we dive deep into California's brand-new Replacement Tire Efficiency Program (approved by the CEC in mid-August 2026). Starting with tires manufactured on or after January 1, 2029, replacement passenger and light-truck tires sold in California must meet a maximum rolling resistance of roughly 9.0–9.1 N/kN (with a minimum wet-grip requirement). Phase 2 tightens it further to about 7.1–7.2 N/kN beginning January 1, 2033. Industry estimates suggest this could eliminate ~70% of current tire models from California shelves.

Listener voicemails follow (including DR in Utah checking in after a long absence and sharing updates on the Jeep Scrambler/IFS talk plus personal notes, and Nicky G with a string of classic dad jokes).

Then it's Round Table time: When (and why) do you put the shopping cart/basket/buggy back? Tony fires off a rant about free labor and shaming stickers; the crew (Glenn, John Lee, Rick, Bob, Travis and others) share honest takes ranging from "always, respect/karma/old-school raising" to "only if it's right next to meβ€”I'm not working for the store." Robots, Walmart in-home delivery, and future trail-side parts robots even make an appearance.

We close the "F*CK You, You F*CK" segment with a heated takedown of drivers who come to a near-complete stop to turn into a strip-mall, Burger King, or drivewayβ€”white-knuckle, wedding-cake-in-the-trunk style. Pit maneuvers and cow-catcher fantasies ensue.

Thousands of Jeeps Savedβ€”Here's Their Complete Philosophy Jan 04, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode of Jeep Talk Show, Tony sits down with Shelby and Adam McDaniel, the husband-and-wife team behind JeepRecyclers.com β€” the go-to source for high-quality new aftermarket, reproduction, and restored parts for 1963–1991 classic full-size Jeeps (Wagoneers, Cherokees, and J-Series trucks).

What started as a passion project has grown into a full-time restoration brand dedicated to saving these iconic vehicles. Since 2016, Shelby and Adam have built their business on grit, integrity, faith, and genuine community relationships. They supply parts, help source solid project vehicles, create how-to content so owners can do more work themselves, and work hard to keep the full-size Jeep community alive.

Tony digs into how they got started (Adam's previous 20-year fitness company, a backyard full of 38 Jeeps in Northern Virginia, and the realization that the best conversations and relationships came from selling Jeep parts), what their average customer looks like (mostly ages 45–65, many with hand-me-downs or retirement passion projects), and whether these classic trucks and SUVs can still be daily drivers. Spoiler: yes β€” they have customers doing exactly that, including one in Australia running a Cummins-powered beauty as a company vehicle.

They also talk restomod vs. patina, factory-correct restorations vs. personal builds, the challenges of finding solid rust-free examples, the shift from restoring individual parts to focusing on more reproduction and new inventory, famous inquiries (including David Spade looking for a Wagoneer and conversations involving the King of Thailand), future plans (better catalog, more how-to videos, shop connections nationwide, and a name transition toward Full Size Garage), and where you might catch them at events like the Bantam Jeep Festival in Gibsonia, PA.

Whether you own a full-size Jeep, are hunting for one, or just love the classic Jeep story, this is a great conversation with two people who are truly doing the Lord's work keeping these trucks and Wagoneers on the road.

In this in-depth interview, Tony from GenRight Off-Road opens up about the real challenges of running an American-made Jeep parts company in today's world. From high-stakes business risks and unpredictable external factors (COVID, inflation, policy changes) to his passion for keeping manufacturing in the USA, Tony shares why GenRight prioritizes quality, complete kits, and honest pricing over cutting corners. He dives into: - The struggles of domestic manufacturing vs. overseas sourcing - How government policies (tariffs, R&D credits, California regulations) directly impact small businesses - Why he refuses to compromise on American jobs and premium materials - His frustration with career politicians and misallocated funds - Building complete, no-surprise kits based on his own garage-days experience - Material choices: when to use steel vs. aluminum (and why weight matters) - Favorite Jeep platforms (JKU, TJ/LJ conversions, Tracer builds) - The future of off-roading in California and fighting to keep trails open - Behind-the-scenes stories from racing, product development, and even visiting Jeep engineers in Michigan If you're a Jeep enthusiast who values American-made quality, innovation, and straight talk from someone who lives and breathes off-roading, this one's for you. πŸ‘‰ Check out GenRight Off-Road: https://www.genrigh.com πŸ‘‰ Tech Talk Live every Wednesday ~5pm PST on YouTube πŸ‘‰ Latest King of the Hammers Experience #4 just dropped β€” street-legal Jeeps tackling the OG race course! #Jeep #GenRight #OffRoad #JeepLife #AmericanMade #JKU #TJLJ #KingOfTheHammers #OffRoading #JeepBuild Welcome to Jeep Talk Show, the ultimate podcast for Jeep enthusiasts!
