In fall 2020, Annette released her debut novel, Even As We Breathe, which explores the American culture during World War II from an indigenous perspective.

Shape-note music, also referred to as sacred heart music, uses different shapes, like squares, triangles, and diamonds, to represent notes instead of traditional music notes.
