Show notes

In this episode of It Could Only Happen to a Pastor, Matt Capps and Josh Reavis share the legendary tale of “Dr. Mildred,” a charming free-meal enthusiast who somehow found her way into every church event with food on the menu. Plus, a perfectly timed (and hilariously awkward) question from a child stops a sermon in its tracks. It’s another round of unforgettable ministry moments, plenty of laughs, and a reminder that you never know what might happen next.

In this episode of It Could Only Happen to a Pastor, Matt Capps and Josh Reavis swap unbelievable (but totally real) ministry stories—from a funeral filled with Elvis impersonators to a surprisingly “patriotic” wardrobe mishap and a legendary name-mix-up gone wrong. With plenty of laughs and a little hard-earned wisdom, they remind pastors they’re not alone in the wild moments of ministry. Tune in for humor, humility, and stories you truly couldn’t make up.
