From the voice of the defendant: As you can see, my name is Marquis Rayner and presently I'm an inmate at SCI-Forest. I am 28 years of age, and I am from small suburban city, Coatesville Pa. Before this incident, I enjoyed spending time with my family, and friends. I never would have imagined that, I would be writing a letter like this, let alone writing from a prison facility. On March 12, 2013, my life took a complete turn for the worse. I went from waking up each morning preparing for a day caring for hospital patients at the Coatesville Brandywine Hospital to waking up in a jail cell. I was accused of and arrested for a very unfortunate crime that took place in Coatesville on June 29, 2012. I was not, and I repeat, I was not involved with the crime in any capacity, and on that day in June a robbery/murder was committed.

Larry Forletta's investigative work on one of Pittsburgh's most haunting unsolved murder mysteries takes the spotlight on; Is There Really Truth & Justice for All? Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt For Justice. The docuseries aired on January 19th on the Oxygen Channel and featured the case of Duquesne University student Dakota James. James was last seen in Downtown Pittsburgh after partying with friends on the night of January 25, 2017. Security footage showed him walking through Katz Plaza and Scott Place before heading toward Fort Duquesne Boulevard and disappearing without a trace. On March 6, his lifeless body was found in the Ohio River. Medical examiners ruled James may have accidentally drowned, and local authorities believed he may have been drunk and killed himself, perhaps accidentally, by jumping off the bridge. After investigation however, an overwhelming amount of evidence indicated otherwise.

The case involved a drive-by shooting after a High School football game. Given the nature of the crime the city was anxious to see the wrongdoers brought to justice. You will hear that his client was arrested on the basis of 2 pieces of evidence: 1; police claim they found his client's High School letterman's coat inside the crashed vehicle and 2; an eyewitness told police that she saw his client climb out of the overturned vehicle after it crashed. However, you will hear Attorney Carlson explain how his client was the victim of a mistaken identification & shoddy investigation. The details are shocking but the outcome is inspiring. Five years in jail until the truth finally prevailed May 01, 2019

Host Jeff Stein, will have Raymond-cenaka Wooden as guest to share his journey of being charged with crimes he did not commit and how he fought the system to prove his innocence. After firing various attorneys, he made a tough decision to represent himself, even against the suggestion of the host, who served as his criminal defense investigator. The two uncovered the evidence, that after almost five years of jailtime, Mr. Wooden had all of his charges in his narcotics case dismissed by the state, after Jeff Stein, met with the judge and ADA in the judge’s chambers. Next on the docket before his release was a rape case, where after a three weeklong trial, Mr. Wooden was found innocent of all charges. Having been wrongfully accused, while sitting in jail for 5 years, Mr. wooden now has a career as a commercial driver and is president of an up and coming company that he is launching while getting his life back on track after 5 years of his life was lost...
