Charles Manson | MKUltra & the CIA: What Hollywood Didn’t Want Out Oct 20, 2026

Charles Manson walked out of prison in 1967 after begging to stay, then landed under a parole officer who ran a government experiment. Within months he was living in Haight-Ashbury, the same place a CIA-linked mind control doctor was doing research on hippies. Coincidence? Tom O’Neill spent twenty years chasing that question for his book Chaos.
In this episode we go through what the book says about Manson, the CIA and MKUltra. We cover the parole officer who never sent him back to prison, Dr. Jolly West and his ties to MKUltra, and Reeve Whitson, the man who called about the Tate murders before police were notified. We also look at the Hollywood side of the story: Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Terry Melcher, the drugs, and the people who might have wanted the real story buried.
We also get into the congressional hearing on June 30, 2026, where Tom O’Neill and historian Stephen Kinzer told lawmakers about MKUltra, Manson and Jack Ruby. And we go through the theories on why: a mind control experiment, a plan to wreck the counterculture, an informant gone wrong, or a cover-up to protect Hollywood. What really happened during the Dyatlov Pass Incident? In February 1959, nine experienced hikers died under mysterious circumstances in Russia's Ural Mountains. Their tent was discovered cut open from the inside, several victims suffered severe unexplained injuries, and radioactive contamination was found on some of their clothing.

Flydubai Flight 1073 was supposed to be a routine flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Instead, it ended with a badly injured captain, a violent descent, an emergency diversion into Saudi Arabia, and one of the strangest aviation stories we’ve seen in years.But almost immediately, the details started changing. A knife became a cockpit crash axe.
Passengers supposedly forced their way into the cockpit, then reports said the wounded captain actually released the door. An off-duty pilot was credited with saving the aircraft, while another passenger later claimed he grabbed the controls first. Even the number of people onboard has varied between reports.
