Let's Get Fiscal: New Sports and Wellness Complex Aug 01, 2024

On July 24, 2024, Charles County Government purchased the old Sears building, located at the St. Charles Towne Center, for $7.5 million. To support the construction of the building to turn it into a sports and wellness facility, the project will be funded from a combination of general obligation bonds, fund balance and state funds. Preservation of Burial Grounds Jun 27, 2024

In this edition of "Inside Your County Government," Doria Fleisher, Community Engagement Coordinator, Cathy Thompson, Assistant Chief of Planning, and Esther Read, County Archeologist, discuss how the county identifies, responds to, and recognizes burial grounds discovered in the county. This episode serves to address concerns regarding the discovery of a burial ground in White Plains in 2021.
