North Carolina's 2026 baseball season ended on the last possible day in Omaha and while the ending was not what UNC fans wanted, the experiences gained from those players that return in 2027 cannot be measured.

Inside Carolina's Tommy Ashley and Spencer Haskell sat down with sophomore pitcher Jackson Rose for a lengthy interview that covered all the bases for the lefty, from walking out on the mound and starting that national championship game, to his summer and work to improve to what he expects from this year's squad as they get deeper into fall practice.

UNC's Need For Elite Recruits - IC Daily | Inside Carolina Analysis | College Basketball Sep 09, 2026
    Show notes

Inside Carolina basketball analyst Rob Harrington joins Tommy Ashley for a breakdown of the Michael Malone-led UNC Basketball high school recruiting approach and the need for the Tar Heels to sign elite talent out of the high school ranks. Harrington discusses the vast benefits of Caleb Wilson's short time in Chapel Hill as a prime example of why high school recruiting is important and different from the transfer portal approach and the impact Wilson's time will have on the program down the road.

Harrington and Ashley take on the discussion of in-state recruiting with two of Carolina's main targets - CJ Rosser and DeMarcus Henry being from the Tar Heel state while playing high school ball at elite programs in Florida and Arizona, respectively. Harrington's point ties into the fanbase side of things and the old Tobacco Road feel of homegrown local talent on the roster.
