Show notes
Hosted by Joey Powell, The Throwback takes an in-depth look at a memorable Tar Heel sporting event from the past. These are games for which most have indelible memories -- games that inevitably come up over a tailgate or a couple of beverages at the local watering hole. The Throwback will revisit classic North Carolina games and revel in the wistful.
Episode 2 of The Throwback will follow the 2017 Basketball team as they're walking in Memphis. In a rematch from a breakneck offensive explosion three months earlier, the Tar Heels face fellow blue-blood Kentucky in the Elite 8. IC Writers Greg Barnes and Sherrell McMillan come along to relive the game that would shape Luke Maye's legacy. Then, Joey talks to the game's unsung hero Kennedy Meeks, to hear his memories from this memorable battle.
