Episode 550: The Enfield Poltergeist Oct 13, 2026
    Show notes

It was August 1977 in Enfield, London, England and Peggy Hodgson started hearing weird things happening at her home at 284 Green Street: furniture moving, random knocking sounds, and then, her daughter Janet started talking in a deep, husky voice. The bizarre experiences continued for nearly 18 months and a slew of paranormal investigators concluded that a poltergeist had taken over the home. One even captured an image of Janet levitating. What was happening at the Enfield home? It remains a mystery, but it inspired movies like The Conjuring 2, and the Hodgson sisters who experienced most of the hauntings still are traumatized to this day.

    Episode 549: Penny Timmons Oct 09, 2026
    Show notes

On Halloween night, October 31, 1992, Penny Timmons vanished shortly after dropping her 18-month-old daughter off at a babysitter’s house. For over a year, the case remained unsolved, with no significant breakthroughs. In December 1993, Daniel E. Parker, who was already serving a separate prison sentence for weapons charges, was implicated in her disappearance. In 1993, Parker pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and kidnapping. He accepted a 60-year prison sentence in exchange for his plea, expressing a desire to spare both families further anguish. Despite this, Penny’s family (and we at Inhuman) continue to feel a profound sense of injustice for her…

Episode 547: Crystal McCrory Jones Oct 02, 2026
    Show notes

The suspicious death of 43-year-old Crystal McCrory Jones in Oak Grove, Louisiana, remains a highly contested case that has sparked national outrage and a relentless family-led campaign for justice. On February 9, 2023, Crystal was found no longer alive in her bed from a single gunshot wound to the head fired through a pillow—a scene the West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Department officially ruled a suicide in under two hours following a mere seven-minute interview with her husband, Tony Jones, a former reserve deputy for that very department. Refusing to accept the rapid ruling, Crystal's biological family hired private investigators who uncovered chilling digitals and physical anomalies, including the deliberate disconnection of the home's Ring camera two days prior, Google location data that shattered Tony's workplace alibi, a denied $63,000 life insurance claim he filed the next morning, and documented medical errors on the official autopsy report. Despite rushing to cremate her body and refusing to formally reopen the investigation, a powerful national media wave of true crime podcasts and viral grassroots advocacy keeps the spotlight firmly on her case as her family actively fights to amend her death certificate and pass protective state legislation dubbed "Crystal's Law"

    Show notes

In 1965, a horrifically gruesome discovery was made at the home of the Rogers family in Houston, Texas. The dismembered remains of the elderly Fred and Edwina Rogers were found in the refrigerator. Nothing seemed to be missing from the home, except for the couple’s 43 year old son, Charles. Charles vanished into thin air and while he was never seen again, he remains the sole suspect in the technically unsolved “Ice Box Murders”.

Episode 545: Alchemy, Blood, and Jacques St. Germain Sep 25, 2026
    Show notes

Jacques St. Germain is a legendary vampire originating in the folklore of 20th-century New Orleans. According to local urban legend, he was a wealthy, charismatic socialite who arrived in the French Quarter around 1902. He claimed to be a direct descendant of the Comte de Saint-Germain—the famous 18th-century European alchemist, courtier, and alleged immortal. St. Germain became a prominent figure in high society by throwing extravagant dinner parties at his home. Guests frequently noted that while he provided endless fine food and wine, he himself never ate a single bite, choosing only to sip deep red wine. While there may not be a direct line of proven facts leading to the origin of St. Germain but his story is certainly captivating and one you could definitely sink your teeth into...

Episode 541: Tracey Motuzick (Thurman) Sep 11, 2026
    Show notes

In the early 1980s, Tracey Thurman left her abusive husband, Charles "Buck" Thurman. Despite obtaining a restraining order and repeatedly pleading with the Torrington, Connecticut Police Department for protection over an eight-month period, her complaints were ignored by officers. On June 10, 1983, Buck attacked Tracey outside a residence. He stabbed her 13 times in the face, neck, and body, and repeatedly kicked her in the head, causing a broken neck and permanent partial paralysis. Police officers arrived during the assault but delayed intervening or arresting him immediately. In 1984, Tracey filed a federal civil rights lawsuit, Thurman v. City of Torrington. She argued that the police department had violated her Fourteenth Amendment right to equal protection. Her legal team successfully demonstrated that police treated domestic disputes less seriously than assaults committed by strangers. In 1985, a federal jury ruled in her favor and Tracey’s case changed the way Connecticut and the US viewed domestic abuse cases forever.
