Education, Wealth and Social Division/Unity May 04, 2022
    Show notes

    I explore several thoughts:

    - Social Division can often stem from historical disparities in education of wealth that often come from lack of market access due to the powerful using state protection of advantages over the powerless

    - Overtime these divisions lead to disparities that result in long standing prejudices that take just as long to fix once market access is restored

    - No social cohesion results in Division that leads to the desire to oppress one another, although too much social cohesion can lead people to being too willing to give up rights paving the way for tyrant later.

Race, Class, Producers, Consumers and the Drug Trade May 04, 2022

After watching a few episodes of the amazing show, One Day at a Time, I had a realization when discussing prejudice and how race/class results in differences in criminal justice outcomes. I recorded my thoughts on how underlying the race/class discussion might be underpinned by a greater cultural bias towards consumers versus producers which also explains how many other conflicts are framed and play out in today’s society.

These are just thoughts to spark a discussion. Hear more at AlexMerced.com
