Comedian Owen Thiele is an admirably bad sleeper – and while he’s up basically every hour of the night, he’s obsessing over how to become a household name. He might be an undiagnosed insomniac but he’s a self-diagnosed narcissist. Melatonin has failed him, so he’s turned to podcasting in the wee hours of the night. If he’s not going to get any rest, he might as well solve humanity’s oldest question: how the **** do I become famous? Follow Owen each week on a new adventure as he attempts (and sometimes succeeds!) to gain notoriety, in the way only Owen can – with candor, laugh-out-loud humor, and biting self-awareness. Hopefully, he doesn’t fall asleep first…

It’s 12:11 a.m. and Owen is back in bed, this time with the dreamy Ezra Frech! Owen and Ezra debate the meaning of Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood list before Owen finds himself nauseous as Ezra’s age is revealed. Then, Ezra talks about growing up and getting into sports, being featured on the Ellen Show at the ripe age of NINE, and winning two gold medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games. Putting on his journalist hat (coming for you, Gayle King), Owen inquires about the horniness of the Paralympic Village and asks Ezra if he’s had to deal with groupies. Later, Owen and Ezra take on trending topics and we learn where Ezra stands on jorts, veneers, lip liner, and more. As usual, this episode is for the girls and the gays, but there is some sports talk, so straight men … enjoy?!

It’s 11:39 a.m. and Owen is out of his bedroom and inside a studio that can accommodate more than three people because the Elevator Boys have joined him for a personal meet-and-greet! Owen and the Boys play a word association game that has Owen learning a lot about all five members (some of them have girlfriends!)—Luis Freitag, Jacob Rott, Bene Schulz, Julien Brown, and Tim Schaecker. They discuss the Boys’ new song “California” and the inspiration behind it, and set the record straight on how the name “Elevator Boys” came to be. Owen also learns about the Boys’ upcoming movie (which they wrote the story for!), the number of songwriters it takes to make a hit, and where to go in Berlin for a sexy time. It’s 10:27 p.m. and tonight is a big deal because Owen is joined in bed by the always ethereal Charlotte Lawrence! Owen deems Charlotte his “saving grace at a weird party” as they talk about their friendship and ultimately reflect on the dress code at Charlotte’s casino night parties. Then, Charlotte reveals to Owen her love of Adults, as well as the show’s celebrity super fan (take a guess!) who texted her about it. Later, Charlotte gives Owen a brief tour of her ink before talking about what it was like working with Ben Gibbard on her debut album ‘Somewhere.’ Owen and Charlotte also reflect on working with a significant other, tour riders, and the concept of climbing cringe mountain. It’s 11:58 p.m. and Owen has just returned from a whirlwind trip to Europe and … an LA impound lot. He contemplates whether or not he’s in his YouTube era (spoiler: he is not) before launching into a recap of his European vacation. Owen discusses donning a durag for Hermès in France, meeting up with Jared’s mother (and religious IYD watcher—hi Kim!) in London, and fighting off fart allegations on a train to a remote area in France to meet his parents. Then, the narrative turns dark as Owen recounts his journey to find his car after returning home from Europe. He paints a picture of lasting trauma that is honestly still haunting him to this day (as in, he’s trying to find a DMV with lenient driving evaluators). Will Owen ever drive again? The answer is no but watch this anyways.
