Tiffany painted her nails and prepped enough pills to kill herself. The Universe intervened. Oct 13, 2022
    Show notes

Tiffany Carter’s mother dressed her in a hot pink micro-miniskirt and sent her on a date with a 23-year old man. She was 11. Thus began a decade of hellish sexual abuse.

As an adult, Tiffany had all the trappings of success. She kept it together on TV, at five star restaurants, on private jets and in multi-million dollar mansions. Beneath the facade, she plotted suicide.

This is the miraculous story of how The Universe intervened and slowly, surely, with the help of many, many people, Tiffany did not merely survive. She thrived - and is now the Founder of the top business coaching brand and podcast, ProjectME with Tiffany Carter. (And she coached Stuart).

Check out her Instagram: @ProjectME_with_Tiffany , her podcast by the same name (this week with STUART!) and her website https://projectmewithtiffany.com/

From Rob to Robbi Sep 15, 2022
    Show notes

I knew Robbi when she was Rob and her pronouns were “he” and “him.” Now he wears heels and occasionally dresses “to the nines” for clubbing on Saturday night in downtown Charleston or church on Sunday morning. As a job, she drives a truck. So she says truck stops can be tricky for trans people. We get personal - like how her wife and son reacted when Rob became Robbi - and how 12 step recovery groups welcomed her. An intimate conversation between two old friends.

Jessye Wilden adopts her niece and nephew after their parents homicide/suicide. Sep 08, 2022
    Show notes

Jessye Wilden was pregnant, living in her in-law’s garage apartment in Mount Shasta, California, when she got the phone call that her brother-in-law and sister-in-law would not wake up. They were covered in blood. The caller: Jessye’s 11-year old niece, who found her parents and called her aunt.

Jessye and her husband did not merely comfort the children and take them in. She adopted them. She made them her own. She consoled them. She comforted them. She parented. And she did the most amazing thing of all - she found grace and hope when most of us would be shattered and bitter. Now she’s chronicled the uplifting story of resilience in a forthcoming book: WE WROTE YOUR NAME IN COLOR.

    WARNING: EXPLICIT DISCUSSION OF SUICIDE.

Lauren Widrick inspires others to follow. Sep 01, 2022
    Show notes

Lauren Widrick bailed on banking. How did she feel? Terrified. Exhilarated. Wouldn’t change a thing. She’s gone from coach to a kind of cheerleader in the best sense. Her enthusiasm is palpable. Infectious. Now she’s created THE SQUAD to “GRAB LIFE BY THE GOALS.” Stuart is all in.

    Kim Honeycutt Aug 25, 2022
    Show notes

Kim Honeycutt has been shamed by her mother and shunned by her church. She self-medicated with alcohol. She got sober through a miracle of grace and has brought hope and healing to many. As a licensed therapist she points out that PTSD is the one disorder directly associated with substance use disorder (aka addiction). But she found little in traditional 12 step literature to directly address shame and trauma. So she got to work.

Kim Honeycutt is a therapist, founder, author, AND podcaster! Look for her book BUT YOUR MOTHER LOVES YOU and check out her conversation with Stuart on her podcast FLIP YOUR LID WITH KIM HONEYCUTT this week!

Tidy Tessi worked for the man until she became her own brand Aug 11, 2022
    Show notes

Years ago I would chat with Tessi at the Einstein Brothers bagel shop on South Boulevard in Charlotte. After decades of working for the man, she became her own woman. Her daughter encouraged her to become her own brand “Tidy Tessi,” like the also alliterative “Molly Maids” but she’s local, original, real and personable. Tessi talks about the loss of her son to a gunshot and how she was able to go on for her four other children.

Now Tessi has come a long way to be “happier than ever.” A real inspiration!
