Grant's Rant: 3-15-21 So now it's Uncle Reggie Bagley chiming in to disrupt the Kings again. Mar 15, 2021

Show notes

When does it end? This Bagley family onslaught of embarrassment does nothing to help the team and can only serve to further disrupt any momentum the players make. One step forward and two steps back every time a Bagley sends out a tweet or makes a comment. Marvin, you're a grown man now, pls take control of your future and let the rest of the family shut up. They're insulting, they're disgraceful and they're detrimental to team play and success. Is that what you really want from family support? Let me give you a piece of my mind in today's rant.

So Miami Heat Meyers Leonard screams an anti-semitic slur and it takes days for any action from the NBA or the Miami Heat. Then, a miniscule fine and a few days off. That's it. And no reaction to speak of from the most outspoken players in the league. No uproar from various organizations screaming racism, literally crickets. What's happening to our systems of consequence and conscience? Hear me out on today's rant.

Episode 46: The magic WAND. Mar 11, 2021

Show notes

Early in my career, I spent some time in Decatur, Illinois at a TV station in that region that was responsible for coverage of pretty much everything that took place in the state. Chicago, St Louis, major sports and incredible collegiate teams. One of the gentlemen I worked with was Doug Wolf. Here's where it gets interesting. Doug is still there, at that very same station some 42 years later! His is a wonderful story and he's really quite the gentleman with a colorful history in the community. The story will take us both back to a time that is very much long gone and some shared stories I'm sure you'll appreciate. it's a fun little history lesson and some entertaining discussion. Please join us for something that is a once in a lifetime discussion.

Grant's Rant: 3-10-21 Meghan Markle, Prince Harry or the Players Championship? Mar 10, 2021

Show notes

What is it with this Royal couple garbage? It's everywhere. Front page of everything I'm looking at. Who the hell cares? Isn't there something we could be doing productively? Enough already. I hate it. The Players Championship can't start soon enough. I'm recording it so I don't have to see any more of the Royal yahoos being interviewed by some other yahoo asking the same questions as every other yahoo. And then I'll watch re-runs of the Players Championship until it's safe to turn on my computer or TV again. I have some perspective on this in today's rant.

Grant's Rant: 3-9-21 How much is Dak Prescott really worth in your mind? Or mine. Mar 09, 2021

Show notes

Oh boy, is this a doozie. $160M for Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys. And he's not even going to have to move. Stays right where he was. Number two salary for a quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes. Worth it? By what gauge? What do you think? Let's take a few minutes to talk about it. As always, you'll want to hear what I have to say.

Show notes

So we've seen a couple of stars go down just before the big NBA All Star game for getting haircuts from a stylist that was Covid positive. Too bad for Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. They're out. Not even in the stadium but it's what LeBron James of the LA Lakers had to say about getting the vaccine that blew me away. His comments about the Covid-19 vaccination are the topic of today's rant. This one is beyond my comprehension

Grant's Rant: 3-6-21 Making millions and wanting out. Mar 06, 2021

Show notes

James Harden, DeShaun Watson, J.J. Watt, and now Russell Wilson. All multi-millionaires and wanting out of their respective teams and cities. What's wrong with pro-sports today? The world is in crisis and sports are one place a fan can go for some pleasure but these guys apparently could care less about the city, the team, the contract and worst of all, the fans. It's a maddening, saddening path things seem to be headed down in professional sports today.
