Grant's Rant: 3-28-22 Kings Embarrassments Mar 28, 2022

Show notes

The Kings have played well as of late. Davion Mitchell has stepped in for the injured De'Aaron Fox and has looked very good! Now that the top 10 in the conference is out of reach the Kings start winning and looking good. Go figure! Off the court it hasn't been a good week for the franchise and that's the topic of today's rant!

Grant's Rant: 3-25-22 NYC Gone Crazy Mar 25, 2022

Show notes

So let me get this straight. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is now allowing unvaccinated athletes and other entertainers to return to work, but not the rest of the residents if they are unvaccinated. How absurd is this? This is a travesty!

Episode 154: World Gone Crazy! Mar 25, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode I discuss the political brainwashing by ESPN, money and power and sports and a tribute to John Clayton who passed away this week. Last Friday during a Women's NCAA basketball game the announcers jammed down the viewers throats their opinion of Florida's " Don't Say Gay" bill. I discuss how absurd this is and why I am boycotting ESPN. I also talk about why so many of our professional athletes misbehave towards the fans. Their is no recourse that's why! I also give a tribute to John Clayton who I had the pleasure of working with back in the late 90's.

Grant's Rant: 3-24-22 The Life Of A Kings Fan Mar 24, 2022

Show notes

The Kings beat the pacers last night without De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Playing against former teammates Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield for the first time, the Kings got a tip in with .02 remaining for the one point win. What made the game so intriguing is that the teams were separated by one loss in the loss column and ping pong balls are up for grabs. Add to the fact that Buddy turned the ball over with 14 seconds remaining and his team up one, well, you just can't make this stuff up! Kings fans have seen that before right?

Grant's Rant: 3-23-22 So Zion Can Dunk? Mar 23, 2022

Show notes

Zion Williamson of the Pelicans has yet to play a game this season due to a fractured foot. He has played in only 85 career games in three seasons. Yesterday he posted a five second video clip of him dunking on his Instagram page. Why? Who cares? I am supposed to be impressed that Williamson can throw the ball off the backboard and do a fancy dunk? I'm not impressed. I will be impressed when I seem him on the court in a real game. What is the purpose of showing a dunk on social media? I don't get it!

Grant's Rant: 3-22-22 Boycotting ESPN Mar 22, 2022

Show notes

On Friday ESPN used their platform during the NCAA Women's tournament to protest what critics are calling ""Don't Say Gay" bill in Florida. I am so sick and tired of ESPN political crap down my throat. The announcers paused for two minutes of silence to support the LGBTQIA+ community. I don't want that on my live sporting events. I don't want politics mixed with sports. And this has nothing to do with my feelings towards this community. My motto is pretty simple. Life goes fast. Be happy! But other than the Master's and NHL I am done with ESPN. Enough is enough already!
