Grant's Rant: 5-13-22 A Rough 48 Hours For Mike Brown May 13, 2022

Show notes

The Sacramento Kings named Mike Brown as their new coach earlier in the week. That was before Brown stepped in for Steve Kerr who is out due to Covid. The Warriors looked awful in Game 4 squeaking out a win over Memphis and looked worse in Game 5 getting blown out. StephenA Smith went on ESPN and called Mike Brown the luckiest man on earth. He said the Kings would not have hired Brown after watching him coach the last two games if they hadn't already signed the deal. As crazy as that sounds Smith is spot on with his comment in my opinion.

Episode 165: NFL Analyst $$$$ and NBA, ESPN Hypocrisy May 13, 2022

Show notes

On today's episode i give you a little quiz. after seeing Tom Bardy signing a reported $375 million dollar deal with Fox. Do you watch the NFL because of the announcers? I sure don't. I ask you to name the analysts from each network after I tell you the play-by-play announcer's name. How did you do? I then move onto the hypocrisy with the NBA and ESPN. The NBA will be playing a preseason game next season in the United Arab Emirates. In the UAE homosexuality is a criminal act and has a maximum penalty of death. In 2016 the NBA pulled their all-star game out of Charlotte over a transgender bathroom bill. Now they are going to play a game where homosexuality is a crime? Really? Why is ESPN and other media outlets remaining silent over this? This is the definition of hypocrisy!

Grant's Rant: 5-12-22 Why The Mask? May 12, 2022

Show notes

I don't care if Steve Kerr and Ime Udoka wear masks. It is their choice, but why wear them around their chin? Kerr is currently unavailable to coach Golden State because he has covid. I mean how stupid do these guys look for wearing masks in an arena where hardly anyone has masks on and then the masks are around their chins most of the time....Makes ZERO sense1

Grant's Rant: 5-11-22 Home Court Or Bust May 11, 2022

Show notes

How about the top seeds in each conference of the NBA? Miami and Phoenix look like two different teams at home and on the road. Last night Miami blew out Philly and Phoenix ran Dallas out of the gym. Speaking of running out of the gym, the Mavs Marquese Chriss and the Suns Bismack Biyombo got ejected and Chriss ran into the tunnel and down the hallway trying to confront Biyombo. Why? Chriss is on his 5th team already and has played only 11 minutes in this series. Stupidity!
