Episode 290: Dodgers Ridiculous Spending Dec 23, 2023

Show notes

The Dodgers have agreed to a 12-year $325 million dollar deal with Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. This comes on the heels of the Dodgers signing Shohei Ohtani for $700 million over 10 years. Oh yeah, the Dodgers also have to pay an additional $50 million to Yamamoto's previous team in Japan. On today's episode I talk about the broken sport of baseball and the unbalance among the teams in MLB. I also reflect on the days before players demanding trades and free agency. Gosh, I miss those times! I don't see any upside to a team paying two players over $1 billion total dollars. I think this is bad for the sport of baseball which already has many problems. If you're a Dodgers man, maybe it's great, but I'm not even sure about that!

Grant's Rant: 12-22-23 Same 'ole Derek Carr Dec 22, 2023

Show notes

Has Derek Carr ever won a big game? His 3rd quarter interception into coverage basically sealed the game for the Rams. Same story for Carr....he just can't get the job done!

Grant's Rant: 12-21-23 Reality Strikes the Kings Dec 21, 2023

Show notes

The Kings got a dose of reality last night. The Celts playing without two starters and coming off an overtime loss the night before to the warriors made it look easy against the Kings. The Celts toyed with the Kings enroute to a 141-119 win. The Kings are good, yes, but not an elite team! We all saw that last night!

Grant's Rant: 12-20-23 The West Just Got Stronger Dec 20, 2023

Show notes

Ja Morant is back for the Grizzlies after serving a 25-game suspension. All he did upon his return in New Orleans was score 34 points including the game winner at the buzzer as the Grizz beat the Pels 115-113. The West just got tougher!
