Grant's Rant: 8-1-23 Aug 01, 2023

Show notes

Last month it was announced that Jeff Van Gundy was out at ESPN and now Mark Jackson is as well. Reports have Doris Burke and Doc Rivers joining Mike Breen to form the top broadcasting team. My question is why? Aren't you trying to save money ESPN? Why have a three-person booth? Basketball isn't conducive to a three-person booth and that is an extra salary!

Grant's Rant: 7-31-23 Really Pat McAfee Jul 31, 2023

Show notes

EESPN's Pat McAfee went to social media yesterday and responded to a tweet from co-worker Evan Fox who made fun of the new Michigan State uniforms. McAfee responded "I think Nassar was in on the design team actually". That is Nassar as in Larry Nassar who is currently serving a life sentence for a variety sexual assault and child pornography charges. The former doctor of US Gymnastics and Michigan St was sentenced to 140-360 years for his gross abuse mostly of young women. That's who McAfee uses to make a joke about a uniform? Really?

Grant's Rant: 7-27-23 Rodgers Discounted Double Check Jul 27, 2023

Show notes

How about Aaron Rodgers of the Jets. He reworked his deal giving up $35million so the Jets have more salary cap flexibility. His new deal is $75 Mil guaranteed. I am surprised more players don't do this. I mean how much money do you need to live a life of luxury?

Grant's Rant: 7-26-23 NFL QB Tidbits Jul 26, 2023

Show notes

Brock Purdy passed his physical with the 49ers and is good to go. Jimmy Garoppolo also passed his physical with the Raiders. Isn't it amazing how many people had those situations forecasted incorrectly? Also, Justin Herbert of the Chargers is now the highest paid player in the history of the league at an average of $52.5 million per year. No wonder why there's no money for running backs relatively speaking!
