Thanksgiving Special | A Terrifying Night in Kennebunkport Nov 13, 2019

I Want to Believe the Podcast | A Terrifying Night in Kennebunkport

Welcome to another holiday special of the I Want to Believe podcast! Is there a serial killer residing in Kennebunkport, Maine?

Season 3 will be coming out after the start of the new year, so look out for that. ALSO you can watch my documentary, Otherworldly Amor on Amazon Prime right now, DVDs are available.

Ah… Thanksgiving… a time of year when families get together, the kitchen is open 24/7, and everyone gains at least 10 pounds… You know what… I’m actually not the biggest a fan of Thanksgiving. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and I definitely love food… but yeah… not my favorite, and that may just be the case for some of you out there, all for various reasons… which we don’t have to get into… so for me, the Thanksgiving stereotype is played… so… let’s just get into the story, yeah?

On March 3, 2018 a reddit user posted a story under “LetsNotMeet”. That subreddit has over 600,000 subscribers and its byline is, “A place to read true stories from people you never want to meet again.”

The user who posted this story has since deleted their account, thus making trying to track them down nearly impossible. Regardless, the post garnered over 230 comments, and the user responded to many questions about the incident. They also posted an update a day later, since then, no further information has come forward. So what exactly happened? The following podcast is their account, in their own words. This is where you press play...

S2 E13 - The Mysterious Case of Lerina Garcia Jan 18, 2019

Show notes

Season 2 Episode 13

THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF LERINA GARCIA

If you've made it this far, thank you! This is the 13th episode of the I Want to Believe podcast and while this IS NOT the season finale, we will be taking a little break. Why? Well, it's the start of the new year, we've recorded and edited 13 episodes back to back and I've got a few other things to do!

I will soon be travelling for a bit to continue work on my documentary, "Otherworldly Amor". Also, I have a new book project in the works and I will be visiting an experiencer to document their case. Exciting stuff! Once I'm back, we'll record a couple more episodes AND we have a little surprise for April 2019, stay tuned.

Ok… back to the show and we’ve got a weird one for ya… let’s talk about the mysterious case of Lerina Garcia.

On July 16, 2008 a woman named Lerina Garcia was struggling with some recent changes in her life and turned to the internet for some help. Her post originally appeared on a Spanish language website called Tendencias21 (which translates to Trends21). I have access to her original post and the link is below. We did use Google Translate so some of the quotes we used are a bit rough. She wrote, “I think I've jumped into a parallel universe. I find it hard to tell because everyone will believe that I am a psychotic, and nobody will believe me. Please, if someone has had a similar experience, write me an email.”

How did she come to this realization? Listen to the episode to find out.

S2 E12 - The Crosswick Monster Jan 18, 2019

Show notes

Season 2 Episode 12

THE CROSSWICK MONSTER

Welcome to the I Want to Believe podcast! We’ve got a little known cryptid to discuss… But first!! As of RIGHT NOW, you can watch me and Bill Brock’s documentary, Abducted New England on Amazon Prime. And my book Otherworldly Encounters, is available wherever books are sold. Links are below!

Awe yeah… let’s get talking about… the Crosswick Monster…

Crosswick is a small village not far from the town of Waynesville, Ohio. It was once a papermill town, but, according to research, “a planned development never quite took off”. Isabella Warner (who writes for the Times-Gazette of Ohio) wrote, “Its sole claim to fame is a mystery that has captured imaginations for more than a hundred years.”

Back in 1882 there were several people who encountered something similar to the Lizard Man of Bishopville (Scape Ore Swamp) which we discussed in S2 E6. They described encountering a huge, angry, bipedal lizard. Warner wrote, “...Ed and Joe Lynch were fishing on a small creek on the south side of the village when they heard a stirring in the reeds of the bank. Upon closer inspection, the boys found the source of the noise to be a 30-foot-long black and white “snake with legs” with yellow spots.”

What happened next? Listen to the episode to find out.

S2 E11 - The Zozo Demon Jan 18, 2019

Show notes

Season 2 Episode 11

THE ZOZO DEMON

We’re getting a little spooky on this episode of the I Want to Believe podcast. But first, as of RIGHT NOW, you can watch me and Bill Brock’s documentary, Abducted New England on Amazon Prime. And my book Otherworldly Encounters, is available wherever books are sold. Links are below!

Ok, let’s get to it… on this episode we will be discussing the Zozo Demon.

Despite the terrifying legend that precedes this larger than life entity, or should I say “afterlife” entity, the Zozo Demon may be more akin to Slenderman. I’m not sure so let’s get some background, eh?

The “Zozo” demon, according to research, has many names including - Zaza, Mama, Oz, Zo, Za, and Abacus. It is said that Zozo is a trickster demon that hunts down innocent people via the Ouija board. People who claim this also say that Zozo presents itself by “guiding the planchette into figure-8 formations, before frantically zooming back and forth between the "Z" and "O."

In 2009, a man named Darren Evans wrote about Zozo on the website, TrueGhostTales.com. Evans wrote, “During my experiences with Ouija boards one particular spirit always seemed compelled to make its presence known. Its name is ZOZO. Today I refuse to even pronounce its name as I believe the mere pronunciation of it can cause it to manifest itself.

What else do we find out about Zozo? Does the demon make a subtle appearance while we recorded this episode?? Is any of this real??? Listen to the episode to find out.

S2 E10 - Revisiting Missing 411 Jan 18, 2019

Show notes

Season 2 Episode 10

REVISITING MISSING 411

This episode brings us back to some familiar territory... the Missing 411 phenomena. Despite our knowledge on the topic, we go to the fringes here. We explore missing time and some possible extraterrestrial implications (hence the cover art).

Our first story takes us back to the late 1800s in the great state of Maine (me & Kyle's home state). A little girl goes missing for over 48 hours... when found, she claimed that it was daylight the entire time. What could this mean?

Our second story takes us to the southern United States to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where a woman and her son experience a wild case of missing time.

Be sure to check out the episode for the full stories!

S2 E9 - The Phil Schneider Story Jan 18, 2019

Show notes

Season 2 Episode 9

THE PHIL SCHNEIDER STORY

Oh boy... today we’ll be discussing a man who maybe knew too much… but first! As of RIGHT NOW, you can watch me and Bill Brock’s documentary, Abducted New England on Amazon Prime. And my book Otherworldly Encounters, is available wherever books are sold. Links are below!

Alright, now it is time to dive into the strange story of Phil Schneider...

Schneider went to engineering school and studied geological engineering and structural engineering that included aerospace and military applications. He trained in explosives and the effect of explosives on structures. He claimed that his first job was with the Morrison-Knudsen Corporation who specialized in the construction of deep underground mountain/military bases also called DUMBs.

Schneider's claims involve black budget projects, new world order, murdered friends disguised as suicides, and... aliens. This is one hell of a story. Listen to the episode to find out more.

Season 2 Episode 8

THE FARM THAT HAD SECRETS (and the Dogmen that kept them)

YO! On this episode, we’ll be discussing a creepy little story from our very own home state... Maine.

But first!! (these plugs are so annoying... I KNOW!) As of RIGHT NOW, you can watch me and Bill Brock’s documentary, Abducted New England on Amazon Prime. And my book Otherworldly Encounters, is available wherever books are sold. Links are below!

Ok, let’s talk about a family, a farm and some Dogmen, shall we?

The Martin family (Eric, Shelley and daughter) experienced a terrifying encounter with beasts of unknown origin. This occurred in the small town of Palmyra, Maine. I have been to this area and it is densely wooded, creepy and I imagine houses some odd creatures.

One night, Eric and Shelley were enjoying a cup of evening coffee on their front porch. Shelley sat with a high-powered flashlight that she liked to shine about the property to observe the wildlife feeding at night. Suddenly, "she trained her floodlight into the blur of the fog. The beams cut through the haze to reveal not deer, but three large, furry creatures whose eyes reflected a bright yellow green. The three rose to run on their hind legs”

What in the hell did they see? Listen to the episode to find out.
