What does it mean to approach the Bible literarily (as literature) and canonically? What is the difference between the Christian Old Testament and the Hebrew Bible? And why did we use Luke 24 to introduce a study in the Old Testament? Suggestions for the Season 3 reading plan.

Eschatology (Pt 3 of 4): The Second Coming Nov 08, 2025
    Show notes

    #millennium #revelation20

Four basic views on the 1,000 years in Revelation 20:

premillenial views: (the second coming of Christ is before the 1,000 years)

    1. Premillenialism- Christ's second coming will precede and inaugurate the 1,000 years, a golden age of peace on earth

    2. Dispensationalism- The church will be #raptured before the #tribulation after which Christ will return to earth to set up a 1000-year kingdom.

postmillenial views: (the second coming of Christ will be after the 1,000 years)

    3. Postmillenialism- Christ's second coming will be after an age where evil is largely suppressed and the world becomes more and more Christianized.

    4. Amillenialism- The 1,000 years is symbolic and represents the present church age, after which Christ returns.
