    Show notes

The Husker247 Podcast convened on Wednesday while it snowed throughout the state. The trio of Mike Schaefer, Michael Bruntz and Brian Christopherson discussed Nebraska’s new assistants in fuller detail.

Starting with wide receiver coach Daikiel Shorts the group went through each new assistant, what we know about them and what the room looks like as it stands.

Husker247 HoopsCast: Can Huskers stay hot even with Berke injury? Feb 11, 2025
    Show notes

The Husker247 HoopsCast returned on Tuesday as Mike Schaefer and Brian Christopherson talked through the latest 2-0 week for the Huskers in Big Ten play and set the stage where things set for the team.

Nebraska defeated both Washington on the road and Ohio State at home while trailing each game at halftime and then winning relatively comfortably with a strong second half. Which game stood out more?

How have the Huskers turned their season around? Why is Schaefer so enthusiastic about Braxton Meah’s -7 point differential performance against Ohio State? How does BC see Nebraska playing in the aftermath of the first actual injury of the season?

Then a discussion about Nebraska’s tournament chances, why this team continues to succeed and if the veteran leadership and experience is what’s making a difference down the stretch.

Finally it’s time to guess a random Husker hooper!

Husker247 Podcast: New lineman, new special teams coach and more Feb 05, 2025
    Show notes

It was a busy week between Husker247 podcasts as Matt Rhule spoke on Saturday, Rocco Spindler committed on Sunday, Mike Ekeler left Tennessee for Nebraska on Monday and it’s nominally National Signing Day despite the fact the Huskers didn’t recruit anyone in the second half of the cycle.

The good news is the Husker247 Podcast covered everything and even tossed in thoughts on the single biggest addition in the 2025 offseason cycle and if Dylan Raiola’s season was a success in 2024?

Follow along as Husker247 looks to shorten your offseason wait one podcast at a time.

Husker247 Podcast: O-line chatter and the future of the Red-White game Jan 29, 2025
    Show notes

The Husker247 Podcast joined up on Wednesday morning to get into conversations about Nebraska’s offensive line, the future of the spring game and NFL draft talk.

Things started with discussing how Rocco Spindler fits into things with the Huskers, what the line makeup might be if he commits to the Huskers, where things are at for Donovan Raiola going into his fourth season and more.

Then it shifted to how things will look in future years for the spring game. Can Nebraska continue its traditional Red-White game? Will this team need to find a new hook to get fans in if a game can’t be played? Does Mike Schaefer have any good ideas or only ones that aren’t terrible?

Finally Michael Bruntz wants to talk hand sizes and how the former Huskers preparing for the NFL draft are faring at events this week.

Husker247 HoopsCast: Losses are piling up Jan 28, 2025
    Show notes

The Husker247 HoopsCast gathered to discuss Nebraska’s 6-game losing streak, the tweaks to the lineup and what is going on on the hardwood.

Mike Schaefer and Brian Christopherson walk through the dismantling at the hands of Wisconsin and a blown home game to USC. What is ailing Nebraska? How can the Huskers get out of it? Can the team?

Then they look ahead to Illinois and Oregon this week — two big opportunities but two very tough teams for a Nebraska group that is low on confidence.

Finally it’s guess a random Husker hooper and we’re going back the late 80s and early 90s.

    Husker247 Podcast: Returning Huskers we're excited about in 2025 Jan 22, 2025
    Show notes

The Husker247 Podcast gathered on Wednesday and did something remarkably unique by focusing a January podcast on players returning to the Huskers and not new additions or transfer portal discussions.

The premise was simple but yielded some different results — who is one player on offense and one player on defense you’re excited about returning and seeing what they can do in 2025?

The trio discuss the names and then dig a little deeper and talk about a few sleepers who might become bigger names in 2025.

Finally there’s a little special teams coordinator talk, a transfer portal mention and a few other odds and ends to round out the show.
